I just purchased this on sale at Amazon. Tool only 79.00 I am a Milwaukee fan but I am really liking my Skill tools for home use. Sander, XP circular saw, this impact, stand light, 40 volt power head weedeater, 40 volt blower. Thanks for another great video and review brother. Edit, it was in July when i bought it. I am very impressed with the performance. 1100 ft pounds is dang impressive.

There was a time when Tim Johnson would have stopped on that 1100 ft/lbs bolt, but now he always takes his tool to failure.

Hopefully, this year, SKIL is planning on releasing some BigBoy Batteries this year2024, to go with the new tool line they have planned to make the evaluation against other heavy hitters in this segment.

Love it. I have an older RV that has some rusty stuff. I will keep this in mind for when my existing tools aren't strong enough. 10 to 20 seconds for a fastener is absolutely fine by me. Takes me that long to get into a good position, choose the right socket, etc etc.

I'm a Milwaukee guy, and Ryobi as backup/cheaper useful odd tools. Skil seems pretty impressive as a Ryobi alternative, the USB charger in the battery is really cool. They just need those random lights and bug zappers and oddball shit lol.

I couldn’t bring myself into buying the better brands for the only reason I don’t use them that much. So far I have several skil 12v and 20v tools and only one battery has failed and the entry model drill. Now I have the drill with the metal chuck and it’s awesome. Not going to build a house with them but around the house projects are very easy for Skil.

Wow! I just watched this video and my mind is blown! I've always been a fan of Skill tools, but this is next level. Doubling the expected torque is just epic! Honestly, this video has me more pumped than watching an NBA game. Who needs three-pointers when you have impact wrenches making torque slam dunks! 🏀💥"

If you even so much as show mid torque RYOBI a bolt that's torqued to 500, the sumbitch would flash the light and run back to the shed screaming.

Impressive performance at a phenomenal price! Question: I was at Lowe's yesterday and when I walked through the power tool section I didn't see any Skil cordless items displayed. I know I've seen them there in the past (I usually shop at HD so I am only in Lowe's a couple times a year.) Is Skil booted from Lowe's now?

I've had mine for little over a month now. Got it at Menards, bare tool, regularly $129 for $79. Then waited to get a battery for it. Ended up getting the jig saw with battery and charger for $59. So I have 2 tools, battery and charger for under $140. Can't beat it with a stick. I also did a video of it on my channel, box opening.
@davidricardo8611 ай бұрын
Nice, you saved $30 buying it this way. I didn't know Menards carried Skil. What is the amp-hour of that jigsaw battery (4ah, 5ah)? And what's the wattage on that charger too (60w, 150w)?
@larrydudgeon284611 ай бұрын
@@davidricardo86 the battery is just a 2ah, good enough for now. I wanted a bigger one but this came up for sale so I got it. The charger is a 60w.

I got the second gen mid torque Hercules impactor at harbor freight. 2nd gen does not do rated power like the first gen did. I took it back and got the ultra torque now I feel like it's overkill for most of my tasks. I do have a basic Skil drill that came with the battery and charger for my birthday. Just might pick up this bare tool impact wrench to have something for in the middle and hard to reach places.

Hello, What battery work in this skil impact Driver wrench, like dewalt some other 20v battery?
@dtsantam11 ай бұрын
After seeing this review I was convinced and went out and bought it. I already had a 2.0ah battery from a skil brad nailer I bought. All giddy I went to do a tire rotation on a 2008 ford focus. Struggled like hell to get the lug nuts off. Finally broke out the breaker bar and finished it by hand. So disappointed.
@davidricardo8611 ай бұрын
I've heard this about other tool reviews too; a person watches a video and thinks it will perform like this in the wild. I'm guilty of it too but these test videos are done in ideal conditions. His tests are controlled and defined; the nuts and bolts are not rusty, they are sometimes greased, the fasteners are not sitting around for months or years allowing the metals to seize naturally as corrosion sets in. I'd imagine a 2008 Ford Focus might have corrosion on the lug nuts and studs. I too was saved by a good old fashion breaker bar when my impact wasn't cutting.
@skargardsfotografen275410 ай бұрын
You need the bigger batteries for the more powerfull tools. The 2ah battery works great for the less powerfull tools but for XP tools I would only use 4ah and 5ah batteries. For ex. the circular saws works with the 2ah batteries but when you put pressure on the saw when cutting thicker (over 30mm) wood the saw will cut power...with the bigger batteries that dose not happen.
@skargardsfotografen275410 ай бұрын
And I have this impact wrench and I have not yeat found a bolt that it would not open. I have used this to drive 12x300mm deck screws into impregnated log wood raw without pre drilled holes.

I use this and their ⅜ drive gun regularly in a trash truck shop in the rust belt. Both are excellent, especially for the price. The ½ has taken some awfully corroded stuff apart. I'm going with their battery line. Also hoping for a high torque model!

Damn man. This thing will drive my RYOBI I bought less than a year ago, backwards with smoke coming off it as it dies horribly. What I want(as a power-hungry tool slut😎)is a brutally powerful tool that doesn't half shake/beat it's dang brains, circuits and other critical parts out on 1st actually tight bolt it comes across, never to be the same afterwards, without having to pay 1.5 or 2 times what just paid for the RYOBI.😡(I'm hating on the whole brand, just their unnecessarily crappy mid torque impact. I already had HP Batteries at home, and the bare tool looked like a deal.🤨) Ryobi makes lots of great tools that are priced great, maybe a little chunky, but are otherwise good quality, reliable tools. I'm strongly considering returning it to upgrade as I've never been this disappointed with a RYOBI purchase, but Home Depot Doesn't carry the SKIL brand of anything. That would more or less lock me into something Milwaukee (because, that's the other battery platform I've picked up since purchasing the last RYOBI tool.)as a replacement 🙄, for struggling RYOBI which can no longer punch in it's intended weight class.😕
