Thanks to your show-and-tell experience, I figured out my "won't shift into gear" problem. All of a sudden, after twisting my gear shift lever a few times clockwise to "tighten it", I realized that it wasn't tightening at all, so I thought, oh boy, maybe I shouldn't have done that... and I twisted it back 1 time only, thinking that's probably good right there.. It was still in gear at this point and I drove for another few minutes. Then, when trying to shift from L2 to L3 it wouldn't move... since twisting the shift lever was 2 minutes prior to trying to shift it into L3 when it wouldn't go in gear, I didn't think that twisting the gear shift lever as an issue at all. Until I watched your video... So then I twisted the lever back counter-clockwise 1 more turn and it worked again. So, twisting the gear shift lever 1 or 2 turns counter-clockwise may twist that shaft you pulled out with the 4 pockets in it and render the shifting alienated. Thanks much sir!

After uploading this.. You are now the most qualified Belarus 250 mechanic I have come across. There's another cool guy who did a walkthrough of the basic maintenance on a 250 etc. but the videos were older and not as HQ as yours. Pretty sure you could actually get a good amount of viewership through just uploading content specific to this tractor. I appreciate this content more than you can imagine. Have the same tractor and even bought the manuals.. most of it is hard to make sense of. My 250 runs great.. Leaks hydraulic fluid near the tank and the control levers. Haven't the slightest clue on how to repair them. I wish mine had that front-end loader!
@wirestiresandfires214

Thanks for the kind words. I'd bet the control levers are sealed with o-rings and you can get most sizes at a local napa, or a local hydraulic shop. Do you have the parts manual, It's oddly sorted but the cutaways are somewhat helpful. If you don't have it dm me and I'll get the cutaways that apply to your problem. Good Luck

All export tractors from the USSR were called Belarus. 200 & 300 series are export versions of T25 and T30 series produced at tractor factories in Vladimir(ВМТЗ), Lipetsk(ЛТЗ) and Kharkiv(ХТЗ). 400 series are export versions of the T40 produced at the tractor plant in Lipetsk(ЛТЗ). 500 series are export versions of the МTЗ-50 series produced at the tractor plant in Minsk(МТЗ). 7000 series are export versions of artillery tractors к700 series, produced by the Kirov Plant in Leningrad (now this is St. Petersburg).

I kinda had one given to me, probably because i smoked the clutch and it is toast now. It has the rubber nubs still on the tires and is much larger. The problem is replacing a clutch on a large tractor with a loader is a big job. And after driving a John Deere trying to shift that thing you start thinking, hay maybe $135 000 is not so bad for a used tractor! The 2 batteries 12/24V positive ground thing, wow is that dangerous for a north american guy to wrap his head around. Burnt my hand grabbing the booster cables! Great vid! Thanks
@wirestiresandfires214

There is some adjustability in the clutch you might investigate. Splitting a tractor is a pain, but I think is more straightforward than it might seem.

I'm thrilled this video helped someone!. I actually sold the machine not too long after I finished it. I don't have enough room to hang on to them long term. I did do some checking on the 3011, and the 250as has band brakes and the 3011 has disc brakes, at least as far as I can tell from some quick looking. My advice would be to start at the rear wheels and work your way in and good luck!

@wirestiresandfires214
@wirestiresandfires214 2 жыл бұрын
The belarus would be a good machine for actual farming. It has an oversize pto, adjustable width, would be good for tending fields I think. It's not that great as a utility tractor due to the manual transmission. If you are looking for a utility tractor I would look for something with a hydrostatic transmission, very easy to maneuver. You should be able to find a t25/250as pretty easily with a loader for less than 3k, and parts availability might well be better than a Chinese tractor more than 5 years old. Good luck with your tractor!

I don't have it anymore to look at the name plate, but the engine plate was in cyrillic, and when this was made the USSR hadn't fallen yet. I did look up the HTZ T-25 and it's clearly the same machine. I find a lot of tractors and especially skid steer are sold under all sorts of brand names. I bet this was sold under Belarus in the USA because HTZ didn't have a presence in the market or something like that. Let me know if you have any more info, I find the history of these sorts of things fascinating.

I don't even know if you will see this, or even answer if you you do . But if there is anyone on You Tube that will know the answer to this ,it is you! I have the same tractor a Belarus 250 A ,And it will kick out of gear , 1st and or 2nd under load ,going up a hill or plowing a field, Driving it on level ground it does fine ,but under load it will come out of what ever gear its in. I have held the shift stick over and sometimes it will stay in gear, But most of the time it will fly out of gear anyway. Someone Give me an idea Please.
@wirestiresandfires214
@wirestiresandfires214 Жыл бұрын
Well, I did end up selling the machine a year ago, but if I recall correctly the rod that messed with my shifting would capture the shift rods when the clutch was released. If that linkage was damaged or missing and the rod was in the open position, you would be able to shift, but it could pop out of gear. I'd bet you have essentially the same problem I had, just presenting differently. Good luck, It took me about 3 hours maybe, to get it apart and all back together.
