Customer wanted his shoes customized so he mailed them to us.
We took the old rubber soles apart, disassembled & built them back up with goodyear welt technique and premium leather materials to give the shoes one heck of a makeover.
Results: Comfort, Replaceable soles, Longer lasting shoes.

What an upgrade. I can't believe those nice suede uppers were ever matched to those cheap rubber soles. That is a premium shoe now. As Elvis would say, "You can do what you want but lay off of my blue suede shoes."

I asked the worker in my nearby shoe-repair shop how much time a similar repair would take and how much it would cost, he responded super quick : just throw them in the bin and get a new pair of shoes.. the leather on my shoes was similar even color but fully perforated and i really like them but on both the pads on side formed some cracks and stitches give up were too soft.. i miss them so much they felt so great on my feet in spring & summer because perforated leather air circulating inside not allow to sweat and were so light.. i saw kind of similar new pair from Pepe Jeans is costing more than 480 $ (reduced from 540 $).. i really wish more skilled people like this existed at least one in each town that would be really awesome for saving favorite wared shoes and the extra money for a new pair !..

This is AMAZINGLY helpful to me. I am trying to convert a pair of Sperry Gold Cup Chukkas with a glued on sole to a hand welt construction. So, thank you so much! You just got a new subscriber. Can I ask what the white strip you attached to the lasting board is called? I’m familiar with everything else. Is it a gemming?

@@jonathanlovin820 its like a tiny wall of leather or synthetic, that is sandwiched by a strip of a sturdy canvas material. the canvas gets glued/stitched to the insole. usually the gemming is purchased ready made at supply shops, but you could certainly make it yourself. the glue is a special contact cement for shoemaking. search for "renia" glue

It is Synthetic Welting Tape. It is used for attaching together in-soles to leather uppers and goodyear welt

@@henri7879 there few ways for good construction, and it is great if you can start, so many videos you can learn from. I started my apprentice when I was 12. I do have different profesion as well, but this one keeps me very happy ( my first love , lol)

You need to look into grounding and electrons being passed off to your feet from the soil itself. It a big cause of health problems. Rubber sole shoes block these electrons. Leather allows them to pass.
