I am sure it is! Keep up the good work on the subie, also wanted to mention some news on the CTR Also just saw this new teaser video on a new CTR intake with two wider CAI vents which are supposedly bigger vs stock. They are claiming 1.5 sec faster from 60-130mph cooler IAT. For 1500.00 NO THANKS! ind-distribution.com/product?sku=EVE-FK8-CF-INT what a rip off. Also there is a teaser video on youtube that shows the intake , carbon fiber looks nice.. but for right now I am thinking ktuner will do me just fine until prices come down considerable for other parts. For you flyingato i would definitely upgrade the intercooler because you track the car and will be using stage 1. Since i will never be at the track and will be on the street i do not think i will really need it unless there is some solid proof that the intercooler will give higher boost levels for longer periods and the HP band is considerably higher vs stock intercooler. also there is no way i am messing with the downpipe right now due to bolts being stripped , rumor has it the stock bolts can be stripped so be careful. I plan on doing these mods probably on year 3 of ownership, Although i will most likely change both intercooler and downpipe at the same time since this is when you want to do it. Flyingato have you heard anything regarding ktuner stage 2 and what parts you will need to handle the higher HP/TQ? Again not sure if it is worth it since it sounds like you mentioned already MPG suffers alot on stage 1? I am just happy i got my type r at msrp and will be very satisfied with stage 0 and stage 1 tune and leaving everything else stock . I plan on keeping the car 10+ years until prices go back up to the 15k-20k range like the current s2000 and integras type r's. So no rush here to upgrade but will be watching the prices and planning it out when the new tunes arrives for ktuner. Hondata seems pretty lame , IMO . Called their customer service and the kid that answered was a joke and could not answer a simple HP dyno question for the CTR. Sorry for the long rant but keep up the good work man , the videos are great. Will try to hit you up again with a few questions via live when i have time to chime in , ttyl

I live in Utah and I am thinking og getting a 2004 Subaru WRX but I hear a lot of horror stories on Subies about how their engines blow up not too long after getting them and stuff. A friend of mine is already on his second engine and just recently I helped him change his transmission because the gears on his old one got shredded. I still love Subies a lot so I think I'm just gonna go for it and get one. Good videos btw. They will really help a lot when I get my Subaru.
@Turtle_Legs
@Turtle_Legs 4 жыл бұрын
@@javi6303 Don't know if you ever got one, but I'll ad my 2 cents. From my experience, they'll blow up if you're pushing too much power, abuse them and/or mod them without knowledge of what you're doing, or not doing regular/preventive maintenance. I've had a 02 WRX, 12 STI, 99 RS and a 92x Aero (Saabaru). The 02 blew up do to my negligence of driving hard without keeping up with oil checks and preventive maintenance, and the 12 went because of too much power. With all that said, you'll be fine as long as you know you're buying from an owner who really took care of it, or know what you're getting into if buying a super cheap or modded wrx/sti. The second hand projects and cheap ones are the funnest if you really want to dive into thw world of Subarus, because they usually come with problems that will help you learn and grow real quick.

fordfocusseferrari I agree with you. People who go through those tough times is because they are beating up their cars with mods and etc. yes they are fun as heck to mod it and drive it to the ground but then don’t complain about “how bad the Subaru are”

If you take the top one first, oil is meant to be present as soon as it's lose. That's a good sign, if you undo the top one and no oil seeps out then it's low (assuming the car is level). As these can have seal problems ⚠️ great video however thanks for sharing.

Going to be changing the rear diff oil on my Bugeye thanks for showing how easy it is. I wont change transmission oil though because the clutch is already worn in and will not take kindly to new fluid. I've heard when putting in a new clutch is the only time you should change trans fluid

Considering the amount of metal shavings that were on the drain plugs, did you end up having any problems with the trans or diff after you changed the fluid? I found a similar amount in mine (100k miles, no clue when/if it was last changed)
