Hey everybody, today we perform a transmission and differential oil change on my 2018 Subaru WRX STI. I show you how to do it and get it done easy without making a mess. Thank you for watching :)
Torqe Specs For Fill And Drain Plugs. For 2008+ GR STI
- Transmission and Front Differential
10MM Allen Bolt on the transmission pan (torque to 36.9 FT/LBS)
T70 Torx bolt on the clutch side (51.6 FT/LBS)
Bolt to the fill hole (36.9 FT/LBS)
- Rear Differential
Bolt up Drain Plug (Torque to 44.3 FT/LBS)
Bolt up Fill Plug w/ Temp Switch (Torque to 44.3 FT/LBS)

elRaggedy STI It’s definitely a good maintenance thing to do. Especially if you have never done it before yourself on that car I’d get it done to be sure it has good oil. My car has around 16,000 miles on it and I still wanted to do this to the car. And look at the oil difference with 16,000 miles crazyyy

@@BeeAboveAverage Im at 90k and it will be my first time doing this... last two times I had a mechanic do it. The only thing Im not understanding is how am I suppose to jack up the car on jack stands... ????

Just have to take it slow when jacking it up, I did a little bit at a time on each side until I got it to the height I wanted and leveled. It was kind of hard to make enough room for the jack and the jack stands at the same time though I won’t lie. I need to buy some ramps or a quick jack

Cut that rubber hose when filling the trans. You needed a bottle just to prime the line before a drop even made it into the trans.

God I hate them drain pans with the lid deal....... bro.... what socket is that... the 24mm you used to take the diff temp sensor out..

watch out your oil pan seems to bo dented and on this model the strainer is right by the pan you might have oil starvation issueà

For the rear differential. What was the torque spec for the top bolt that has the connector?

If I remember correctly I believe it was around 36.2 ft/lbs

The wrap on them started coming off shortly after this video and I ended up taking it off. Been running without the wrap for a while now.
