Nice video. Just been on a fishing weekend with my young grandson; we've both got a copy of your book, which is an excellent (and beautifully illustrated) read for all anglers of any experience. I find the section about knots especially useful as I have forgotten almost everything after being away from fishing for so long.

Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup kzbin.infoUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

As a woman, wanting to start a male dominated hobby can be intimidating. Watching Omi was encouraging, and helped to relieve some anxiety of finally stepping into a tackle shop. Would love to see more of this and your shared experience :)

I'd say its not just a female that feels anxiety entering a tackle shop, i havent fished for 25 years and am getting ready to try again, however that feeling of nervousness in the shops is all too apparent.

Im a keen carp fisherman now but we all started somewhere, most of us started at a young age float fishing and no matter how many big carp you catche there's just something magical, exciting and nostalgic about going back to your roots watching a float and catching the same fish you fished for as a kid, it never gets old.
@leesagar86512 жыл бұрын
As a viewer I love seeing Omi's evolution from a woman walking by you when you were taking a picture of your catch to having her own gear, knowing the species of fish etc. As a fisherman of 32 years I love seeing someone gain a passion for fishing.

i have recently just come back to fishing after being away from it for 15 years and also selling all my tackle that i had. i brought a waggler rod and everything needed yesterday and i can't wait to get back on the bank. your videos are reminding me so much of what i have forgotten especially about the knotts. i'm hopefully going to get to go on my days off work next week

I watched one like this of yours 18 months ago. I'm now big into it, same as my kids. The stages of development through the fishing journey. From whips to tods and reels, into method feeder then for the big carp. I have a pb of 28lb 7oz my 11 year old girl 11lb 2oz mirror and my 7 year old boy a 12lb 6oz mirror. I even coach fishing with Keith Arthur at my local fishery charity. Carl again thank you to both you and Alex, your enthusiasm in your videos was addictive and the way you don't drop brands in your videos is admirable. Even when I'm old me and my kids can always go on a fishing trip.

Hello Carl, Alex and Omi. Having watched this video I found your ‘Shop’ on-Line and bought your book ‘Simple Fishing Guidebook. Over the years I have read many fishing books, but this one grabbed me. It’s great. Well presented and very informative. My only criticism is the short section on Dropshot and Lure fishing, I have followed your advice and bought myself a Advanta Dropshot rod and a cheap real, some Braided line and size 6 dropshot hooks, followed your advice on tying knots and loading the spool. Ready for my first Dropshot session on my local tiny river (River Ouzel). Anyone reading this message should buy your book, I give you 12 out of 10 for it. I look forward to your next publication.

I know nothing about fishing and find it all a bit intimidating, like you need to know a bit more about it than any beginner would . However the local association where running a have a try session for kids and I took along my 11 and 7 year old. The elder is a boy and has fished with his Polish grandparent over in Poland , but youngest is a girl and wanted to also go today. We used a whip and wagglers a box of maggots and caught loads of little fish maybe about 50!! Couldn’t believe it. Daughter loved it too. Have ordered your book and will do it again!

My Wife isn't very tall and was always complaining that the rod she was using when she began Waggler Fishing with me was too long and cumbersome. So I bought her a 9ft Browning CK Micro Waggler rod and she loves it. It' was inexpensive, is well made, and has handled Silvers & Tench up to 3½ lb with ease. She's getting the hang of striking, but the odd Roach has suddenly found themselves in a tree!😂
