I have a Rockford Fosgate Prime 750 amp and out of the blue my subs stopped working. The power button lights as normal but after connecting it as you did here, the small speaker vibrated strongly and then the positive terminal started smoking. Is that a clear sign that the amp is haywire?

Is it normal for the amp to go into protection mode when the the gain goes up almost all the way when bench testing?

Reason I ask is because I tested a used amp and thought it was malfunctioning but when I connect to car it's doesn't do that it's normal when gain goes up or down

@@marcovaldovinos5009 try using a AGM battery as your power supply. Using a battery charger like this guy is.. ..I wouldn't suggest going ham with the gain or knocking subs.

I would not do that to an amp that's been sitting for years and years. I would run it off of the power supply like on this video but adjust the amperage around 2.5-3... then turn the amp on. If you do it to the battery you might have too much amperage and amp might blow. Only cuz if it's been sitting for like 10-20 years I would not recommend it.

I'd suggest putting AGM car batteries to the amp and replenishing the AGM batteries with a car battery charger designed to recharge AGM batteries

So how u get sound to work from rca

This setup was a aux to rca wire, you could also use a tone tester with the rca end to generate a test tone.
