Hey Lyle I work at a company called Bansbach Easylift N.A. We are a motion control company. We have gas springs/struts that can be re-pressurized and adjusted to any pressure you may need. Let’s say you put a wing on the rear hatch, we can adjust the pressure for the additional weight. We can also adjust lift and damping for lowering. We are located in Melbourne, Florida check us out

I ordered one but I had the same problem on the luggage doors on my rv. I took a short section of pvc pipe and slit it lengthwise. Then cut it to length and voila....it keeps the gas strut open. So, I guess if anyone wants one 'right now' or has misplaced their hood tool, a short piece of pvc could do in a pinch. Thanks for all the great videos.

Great little tool! Had my C6 hood open and drying it with a blower. All the sudden, WHAM! That could have been a disaster. I usually manually lower the hood all the way and then with a cloth, push down on each side to lock the hood down. Notice the trunk struts have weakened, so they all will need to be replaced. Thanks for the info!

Aloha from Hawaii! I was bonked on my head with the hood on my 92 C4. It now has the original long strut (new) AND two of the short struts (also new) from earlier models. No more head honking. I do like that clamp, though, and will probably get one. Currently if I lift the hood about a foot or so it goes up the rest of the way itself.

Even worse than hitting your head on those things is when I had the huge, heavy hood open on my 98 Crown Vic and was holding onto the front top of the car, bent over looking at something under the bumper. Along with 2 inch Stainless Works headers this has caused my under hood temps to really get up there. 230 in traffic at times. I have a large LG motorsports radiator and the fan is new. Just curious about what you thought about TracSpec hood louvers. I been a little reluctant for fear of water intrusion. I live in South Carolina but will be retiring to Florida in the next year.
