That’s sounds a good idea. We use Curve Smart Tracker by Vodafone £3 a month it’s attached to small power pack which is charged from the vehicle. All the items are hidden. It sends a signal every 15mins plus you can change on the app to have real time tracking. Also you can zone the area so if the vehicle moves out of the zone it sends you an alert.

We use an old Samsung which has Find my phone on it. Pretty much the set up you have.

We had a tracker fitted from new but that is a great idea. We only use our 12v socket too for the telly.
