I was gifted some non-rechargable tile trackers a few years ago and the batteries are starting to go. Finding comprehensive reviews/comparisons of these trackers is impossible, so thank you so much for this! Made me laugh when you pulled out the military grade tracker as a "control" 😂😂😂 definitely helped put accuracy/latency into perspective

Id' like to see a chart/table showing all the things you could do with these tags to really view the comparison clearly, in the end. like each column would list down their battery life, battery replacable, distance, app userfriendly, subscription? etc. that would've helped alot for us watching this follow all the information presented.

Newbie to the idea of a bag tag: I'm looking for one to use as I fly around the world, am I correct that in order to be found, the tag has to in range of a phone that has the service? Example, if I have a tile tracker and my bag is in the wrong airport. Someone in that airport has to be near that bag and also have the tile app running.

Accurate. Apple Airtags benefit from other devices also helping with that process like Macbooks and iPads.

I'm surprised that given how new the Google Find My network is and that users must install and opt-in the devices in the network even tracked. Perhaps an onscreen table of devices vs time behind GPS tracker would be useful.

Does UWB helps to detecting the device in the "lost" better? There is a test where someone shipped a android pebblebee, samsung and airtag together. The pebblebee is the only device that is have poor update. I can only come up with 2 conclusion that either the UWB makes a difference or there is really a difference in system. I thought it could be a different carrier issue. But a samsung tag means that the phone that detects the pebblebee suppose to be also in android network.
@IllinoisDailyCarryАй бұрын
@@Wootsk I think it helps with location from others overall. Even if not in lost mode.
@WootskАй бұрын
@@IllinoisDailyCarry Yup, but I am not able to find any mention of it online. All they mentioned about is using on items where you lost them and last location and UWB helps in accurate tracking. I know of parents using airtags on their child so if they gotten lost, the parent is able to find them. There are lots of such cases from a parent forum I am in. Bluetooth isn't going to be useful in area like a huge theme park or zoo where the kids could be running around. If my Bluetooth can find them, I can already see them.
@IllinoisDailyCarryАй бұрын
@@Wootsk I couldn't either but I don't know how it could do anything other than help its "findability."
@WootskАй бұрын
@@IllinoisDailyCarry did some search on UWB and it seems to have 3 great advantage on UWB which I think makes a difference between the find my devices. 1. UWB has much longer than and detection, it is accurate till 50m but detection till at least 200m. 2. UWB has faster detection with a test comparing one of the model to Bluetooth. UWB is in MS with speed 1000x faster than Bluetooth. 3. Android Bluetooth system also require multiple devices to register the tag. Thus considering the above, a tag in android network might not be registered before it leaves the Bluetooth range of multiple devices.
