Yeah, it's not that I think Dax sucks. He pulls it off. It's just that Bun E is one of those drummers that nobody can touch. He was always my favorite member of CT and he added so much to their sound, image, and overall magic. They're still writing great songs (much better than what they were serving up in the horrible '85-'94 period) and they still put on a great show, but it doesn't go to that next level like it did with Bun E. Oh well, I guess we had better just get used to it. I don't think Bun E's ever coming back. That ship sailed a while back now.

I can't stand Steve Miller's music but he was dead on the money about the RRHoF. Someone needed to say it and he stepped up. I still won't listen to his records, but he's got my undying respect. Cheap Trick has been one of my top 3 favorite bands for well over 40 years, but I never cared one way or another when they got inducted. That institution means fuck-all to me. It's just an excuse for a bunch of record industry scumbags and their sycophants to get together and stroke each other's egos while they charge $10K admission. It has about as much to do with actual rock and roll as an insurance seminar. They induct rappers and pop divas while completely ignoring the true rock and roll pioneers. I really wish people would quit thinking of them as the standard for rock and roll legitimacy and greatness. That place is a joke and a skid mark on the underwear of rock and roll.

Not every fucking band that recorded an album should be in the HOF. Uriah Heep and Steppenwolf were nice and both are unworthy. Emerson, Lake and Palmer should be in however for their huge record sales and world wide popularity, their incredible stage shows and the fact that they brought something new and different to the table. Emerson's Hammond rocked just as much as any of his contemporaries on guitar and none other than Jimi Hendrix was a fan. I realize they won't ever get in, unless they wait until Carl Palmer passes away. Silly assholes.
