Just saw you on tour in Davenport Iowa. Still kickin ass at 74 in 2023. 😊Got a pick from Rick

Met Rick very briefly by chance the first time I saw Cheap Trick. He was very friendly and sincere, asked me how I enjoyed the show and seemed genuinely interested in what I was saying. He seemed delighted when I told him he was one of my favorite guitarists and that he was an inspiration to my own guitar playing. Shook my hand and apologized that he didn't have more time to talk.

Well Rick you are now 70 and you are still rocking your heart out. I saw Cheap Trick last month in Nottingham, England and we got a hello from Rick. Great gig.

Hey 1983 Rick, I just saw you in Hartford about 3 hours ago, you're 69, and still musically and visually compelling on stage. Never stop, you're one of my biggest inspirations!

One On One Tour is special in my view. TP had left, and they came back with the HEAVIEST album of their career. It is more than just a record. One On One is an uncompromising statement of intent and purpose. Basically we don't about anything except to rock as hard as we can. One On One remains my personal favorite for these reasons.

rick said in this 1983 interview that he hopes to be still playing in the band when he is 70, he is now 67 years old and still playing in the band (re: 2016)
@xennial80sxberner7 жыл бұрын
I was about to mention that too! He's going to be 70 in late 2018 so basically just about there and he's still into it just like he thought. Imagine how old 70 seemed back then (a man born in 1912-13 back then was like total elderly).

i've listened and read rick interviews since 1977. i have NEVER seen, heard or read an interview where he was serious before. this is shocking.

This is where my love of CT started, OOO. I got the cassette and listened it in my van. I knew about the other releases but this release got me on their band wagon. Then I saw them at the Ionia Free Fair with Mich Rider. They slayed! I believe Pete C. was on Bass(or was it Jon,Don't remember) Any way OOO still has a special place in my heart!

I remember when I saw CT in a small bar ('74?) called Sugar Mountain in Milwaukee and I was about the only one there at a small table 6' from the stage. I loved them and never knew they would be so popular. Now I play their songs on my own guitar.
