The clue is in tthe title here but we take a dive into the best cheap ULEZ compliant cars available for under £2500 and also give you a few tips along the way to help you when buying a used car in the UK. Since the ULEZ expansion I hope that a lot of you find this useful.
The ULEZ safe cars start from just £800 in this one and they are all either EURO 4 or EURO 5 compliant. Good cheap cars are still around if you look in the right places and even cheap ULEZ cars are easy to find.
All of these cheap ULEZ cars are petrol and all are advertised as having done less than 90,000 miles.
Let me know which one you'd got for, the practicality of a Honda Jazz or the fun of a BMW Z4? Aside from one or two here these are cheap cars to run with good fuel efficiency and relatively low tax that should all be very reliable if well-maintained. Remember I'm not vouchign for any of the specific cars in this video, just giving you an idea of good cheap ULEZ cars to have a think about.

Agree with your comments about a dealer selling dirty cars. If they've umm'd and ahh'd about cleaning it you know they've done the same with the alloys, the paint, the gearbox, the engine, the timing belt and just about everything else that costs time and money. Only buy from a company which takes pride in their work.

I'm currently running my second nissan note while I wait for my new lease car. Very reliable though fuel economy on the 1.4 is just about average. Apart from a wheel bearing, nothing has gone wrong.

I think the media have stirred up some serious problems and hate with the ulez coverage. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people commuting can afford to change to a compliant car but it's been turned into a "control" story

Cheers for this! Keeping things realistic and helpful rather than going on about EVs that hardly anyone can afford. Im sure i heard EVs are mainly just being bought for fleet/cpmpany vehicles and not as popular for the average chap on the street.

A big reason why car dealers are struggling to sell used EVs is because of the huge oversupply caused by company cars coming to the end of their leases and coming into the market. It makes them much more affordable on the used market so hopefully more people will get to experience them (if they want to).

Great vid, especially as I am looking for a cheap ulez car, and second criteria is a fun car, and I came up with either mini convertible petrol or bmw e46 convertible petrol and both under £2,500. Probably go with Bmw as you unlikely to loose any money on depreciation, in fact may increase over the next few years as they fast becoming classic status

Thanks for the video . See a few comments here saying it's all media over hyped and everyone can afford to change vehicles . Not sure if these people still live with their parents and have no bills to pay ? I live in Kent and work in Kent . Family of 4 , sole wage earner . This week I'm going to have to scrap a perfectly useable Skoda Fabia 1.4 diesel that costs £20 tax and does 65 mpg . I'm then going to have to buy an overpriced petrol car that'll cost more to run . Absolute madness . Just another tax imo . One last thing regarding the Honda Jazz ; aren't they known for Cat theft , so maybe not such a good buy ?

I thought Petrols had to be registered after 2006 and Diesels after 2018? Good few of your examples would be non-compliant. If not in London, certainly in Glasgow & Edinburgh

Not here, Euro 4 petrol and above and Euro 6 diesel and above. Cars after 2005/2016 are generally all compliant but so are lots older than that.
