Brian, I applaud this series you are doing. Since you've just kicked it off, a suggestion for you: splice in an occasional graphic or map of an area you are presenting on video to provide that 'bigger picture'. A bit of extra editing workload, I realize...but usually there are such signs, graphic displays and brochures that would help build that conceptual orientation you are trying to create for the viewer. And thank you for addressing the 'just show up' campers like us. Beach side lounging, indeed!

My husband and I have developed a plan for us and our 11 year old daughter to be fully nomad within three years. Thanks to you, Bob, and the rest of the video/film crew for these helpful videos. We plan on mainly staying in New Mexico and Arizona but also traveling. My daughter really wants to see the ocean and I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest when I traveled there about 25 years ago. We currently live in Kentucky and my husband has never been further than Tennessee and my daughter has never been out of the tri-state area. We tent camp frequently as a family and want more out of life! I am a true nomad at heart and my daughter was born with the same spirit longing to travel and explore!

You will love it. And your daughter will learn so much more then she would in a classroom. The three years I got to do it with my parents were the best years of my teens. It's also something I will never forget.

Brian, another great video. Bob and you have similar styles in that you deliver facts, data, and information that is clear and honest. Its refreshing to have a dependable source that is delivered with humor and kindness instead the "youtuber ego and BS artistry" so many fill their videos with. In the US Navy on off showers are common. If captain orders water restrictions thats the order. Someone over you catches you taking a longer shower called a vacation, they can and will give a writeup and at least an XOs mass. You don't want a captains mass. You can get brig time at Captains mass. Its just not worth getting introuble over a shower.

We were in Jal earlier this year. We loved it. The people were so friendly and helpful. We actually ran into some travel issues while there and offered to pay to stay longer than the 3 days. They told us no way. To stay as long as we needed to. That they were glad yo have us and our business in their stores, etc. I needed a wheelchair, short term, and one of the city officials went to his church and borrowed one for me. An older local legend, Mr. Gene, came and took us sightseeing around the area, and to lunch at the senior center. We could not have asked for a more pleasant stay, anywhere.

@@qnslanman for the most part we take our dogs (a large German shepherd and a small French bulldog) everywhere we go! I grew up in New Mexico and have been to almost every state park here! The only exception I can think of is the Carlsbad Caverns. ( but only inside the caverns themselves!) If you haven’t been check out Sitting Bull Falls (National park services) really beautiful just no camping on site but 100 yards outside the gates you can primitive camp and Brantley lake is not too far it has bathrooms and showers as well as hook ups for rv’s. Plus lots of primitive camping!

I didn’t know what to think because everyone and I mean everyone kept waving at me when I’d drive through town!!! Lol turns out that’s just the way it is!

I had a NM state park last year. Campers were "reasonable". Clearly at this point the "crowd" has changed. Now plenty of fulltimers with generators ON all day long. They never seem to hike anywhere. Basically in my perspective of a hiker and nature lover it is a nightmare. Unfortunately, if you have reservations it will cost you $5 a day to cancel and leave. Likely Colorado and its National parks in high altitude (near 9k feet) will be more what I am looking for ...which is NOT cheap rent, considering gas prices I dont even understand why these "campers" dont get roomates and stay home, since they mostly "sit and eat".
@Bluponi Жыл бұрын
So if you get the Quartzsite LTVA pass for 7 months, and the New Mexico State Park Pass, you have your rent paid for the whole year, for $ 400, or about $ 34 per month... Much better than the $ 2500 per month rent in the Seattle area...
