One big thing that I like about the Alesis e-kit is that it looks like a normal drum kit, but it's actually electrical.

My dream kit is the Alesis strike pro, I already have the alesis nitro mesh but the strike pro looks like a real drumset the way the thick bass drum is made

Thing is, the Alesis sounded really thin. The Simmons sounded really punchy, so initial impressions, the Simmons wins. However it sounds really unrealistic and "machine gunny". The Alesis is much more realistic. Surely the Alesis has some better sounds on it though?

I have the alesis in the video. Theres 136 preset kits made from 1,800 sounds and 45,000 samples. You can make your own kits and import custom kits from online if you want. There’s some pretty good sounds already built into it though

doesn't really matters tbh. Ezdrummer is the way to go. It has way better sounding kits that any e drum on the market.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a set of e-drums for cyber Monday. I haven't had the time to unbox them and set them up. I'm a complete beginner so I didn't want to go overboard and spend too much. Hopefully I'll be able to try them out in the next couple of weeks. I purchased the Donner DED 100, it seemed like a decent buy to me for what I'm looking.

You should compare running them through a music program like EZDrummer, I found it's a great way to easily and relatively cheaply greatly increase the soun

The Simons Titan hi-hat splash does sound nice, but the hi-hat pedal is separated from the actual cymbal, which is another thing I don't like.

I am brand new to drumming so take this with a grain of salt... I think the Alesis looks a lot better and has some features like the dual zone cymbals and such but I think the Simmons actually sounds better.

What I don't like about the Simons Titan cymbals, is that they're made of plastic. The Alesis cymbals are better for me because they're made of rubber.

I'm also not a big fan of the kick drum from the Simons Titan. It's too small, and any other e-kit includes a bass drum like that.

The Alesis hi-hat also has a nice splash, but a hi-hat is 2 separate cymbals clamped together with a pedal. The Alesis hi-hat isn't like any other hi-hat.
