In modern i would say gift storm or gruul infect. My gruul infect deck is so consistent. Turn 2 wins are pretty common turn three is just what it does...gifts decks are seeing alot of play though

The deck I used to play was: 4x Diligent Excavator 4x Altar of the Brood 4x Paradoxical Outcome 4x Tormod's Crypt (and because you don't wanna mill their flashback/reanimation pieces) 16x other 0-cost artifacts 2x Erayo 4 Remands 22 lands Was fun, pretty budget, and silly as hell to make them mill their whole library in a single turn sometimes with only 3 or 4 0-cost artifacts, so long as you had enough Altars/Excavators on board! Also had 4x Reckless Fireweavers and 2x Aetherflux Reservoirs (to switch out for the Excavators/Altars) in the sideboard, to enable a game 3 win if they mistakenly sideboard into mill hate themselves for the remaining games after the first!

Harry, you didn’t kill the Amulet Titan player with 3 Amulets. You killed them with ALL FOUR amulets being played. They got their fourth one before they were killed. They could not have drawn more perfectly to answer your answers, and your deck still won

Venerated Rotpriest plus 2 Spellskites, you can keep bouncing the target back and forth between the two until they die to poison!

I played around with Titanoth Rex before in mono-green infect. I used it as a way to give my creatures trample (Along side Rancor) as a way to punch through my opponent's defences. The deck also ran Ram Through as a form of removal, or extra infect once your creatures have Trample.

I run a Ram Through in a Brokkos infect Commander deck and it's easily one of the best cards in the deck.

I have to wonder if "shoal-fect" is something worth trying out with full optimization. You only need 1 mana (but 3 cards) to pump up, so you could shoot for a turn 2 kill with a 1 mana counter up. All you need is a 7+ cmc card to pitch so turntimber symbiote and sea gate restoration could replace some lands for that purpose

For the $10 deck, you could have included a playset of Massive Might to push damage through, which is an instant for G that gives target creature +2/+2 and Trample until end of turn, and is like 20 cents for a playset.

I want to see you put a turn 2 Ancient Imperiosaur in play. All you'd need is a bunch of 0 drop creatures and 2 Llanowar Elves. Then you could tap all of them for a colorless mana or a Green mana to convoke the Imperiosaur to the battlefield. It enters as a 20/20 and because it has ward 2, it's almost guaranteed to make it to your next turn where you swing for lethal.

Also in the $100 deck you could of added Gemrazer to give your creatures reach, trample, infect, 4/4 and also the destroy effect on the mutate. Also they are under $4 each

Rancor could solve the Evasion issue in the first two lists. When considering budget, creativity is key.

This is almost exactly what I did back in 2015/16, built a very budget mono-green infect build, then slowly upgraded it to the then T1 version. It's still what I do with commander decks now, build them for usually less than 100 quid, then buy/trade for more expensive stuff down the line.

The standard deck is a pretty good place to start, they're around $60 usd on average by the looks... Now that I'm trying though, $10 is a very difficult challenge for something that looks good. Even things like 4x Spellstutter Sprite is $13!

This is how I did it. I did have a lot of the expensive cards for tron because I got them when they were cheap or at pre release. I'm slowly buying cards one at a time for a painter's servant deck (I have 3), and glimpse which is a budget deck. Neobrand isnt too bad. Neither is the NeoSaur build with Gishath. It's cheaper. Start with your lands. I wish I spent my store credit on lands instead of 2 boxes.

I’ve told a bunch of people wanting to get into modern to do just this. Buy the basics of the deck to make it work and slowly upgrade over time. Took me just under 2 years to buy into my fully built modern deck. Also teaches you why your buying the upgraded cards and how to better use them

Rogue's Passage is really hefty at 4 colorless mana and tapping it, effectively 5 mana just to give something unblockable, with a large likelihood of it just being exiled or killed since you don't have any mana for protection to the large swath of interaction in Modern, Solitude, Leyline Binding, Path to Exile, Lightning Bolt, Fatal Push, etc.

5:25 Burn player did not have lethal. You would be at 2 when the stack resolved meaning you conceded when you had the win. 8:00 That deck the op has abuses Amulet of Vigor with Timeless Lotus to win with Door to Nothingness.

I'm confused as to why opponents were conceding to Scale Up on Venerated Rotpriest when it has Toxic and not Infect, meaning the Scale Up doesn't add a ton of extra poison. Several opponents in thia video did this. Is there something I'm missing?

One opponent scooped quite early, but you can just kill people by attacking! I believe against esper control I had 12 damage when they were at 11.
