Turtle Wax I absolutely cannot say enough of the improvement in Turtle wax products. I really like the ice lineup. The ice paste wax is sooo slick and hydrophobic it’s crazy. I have a dark metallic green Pontiac and it really made the color darker and brought out that metallic. Another favorite is your seal and shine.

I'm an avid detailer like you man. I'm not a expert, but since i been detailing my cars for 15 years now, i come to realize that there's pretty much no "best" spray wax. They're all fine. As long as you keep a good cleaning regimen for your car. It's kinda like synthetic oil. People always say which brand is the best. And i say, if you change your oil religiously, it doesn't matter what brand you use. Pick the right viscosity and change it often and you'll run into zero problems. Same case here. I have tried all the brands. I am using mothers now, because i got it on sale as a bundle. Once it runs out, i'll be shopping on amazon for whatever deal they have. Right now turtle wax ice is on sale for under 6 bucks, so i'll probably get that just to stock up for this summer. Last summer i was using chemical guys. The year before that i was using adams and griots. In my opinion, those are over priced when the results are the same. So my advice to any car enthusiasts. Stick with whatever is cheaper, and clean your car often, you'll get the same results.

I've seen a few comments over the last year on various videos that people really swear that this and the whole ICE line is really good AND cheap. I have a bottle of TW Shine Lock Sealant with the Smart Shield and as I recall it gave me great results, but I just used it once and it's been sitting on the shelf. I'm going to have give this whole line a second look.

TW is the default choice for most people, myself included. A lot of people use it because it's what they saw Dad use. I'm 53, and remember my father using it in the '70s. Are there better products available? Often, yes. But for the majority of people it's good enough, has a good price point, and is available everywhere. If I had a show car, or was an extreme type A personality, I would shop around for something different. But for my daily driver, it works so why change.

The country and city where I live you can get carwash shampoos, several types of tireshine and waxes. And when I wash my car I like to use a spraywax, so I made my own one😉. What did I do: 16 oz. Bottle filled with 13,5 oz. reverse osmosis water then 1 oz. carwash shampoo ph-neutral and 1,5 oz. Turtlewax carnaubau. I apply it always on wet car, it is streaking and leaves a haze, but this haze you can remove with a microfiber towel with no effort. This protect the car for 2 months.

I think your product reviews are great and Turtle Wax has come a long way since I began driving in the 90’s. Griot’s Spray on Wax is a drying aid only. The directions say to spray on a wet surface it doesn’t say it can be applied on a dry surface. It also says out of direct sunlight. Did this change you final results probably not but I just wanted to throw that out there. If you haven’t tried Griot’s Best of Show Spray Wax then you really need to. It is used on a dry surface not a wet surface. The water beading is really tight circles and almost acts like an SIO2 spray.

For a demo if can apply wet, try misting the panel then the product for the wax drying aid. I have tried the Ice spray and it was little more difficult to remove but some test show really good long term life (better than 6-months). It was a surprise product but I still like a few other products strictly for application and results.

Never gone longer then that without washing my car. Part I like is I can use it on everything! Paint, wheels, windows, plastics, everything and it sheets, beads water off all of it.

My 2 cents: Any of the synthetics will bead longer because they bond to the paint differently. But therein is the problem. They negatively affect the clear coat and paint's ability to breath and they build up very unevenly with time. Not good. Griots is not synthetic and uses natural carnauba wax - it costs more to make so that's 1 reason it costs more, and it's much better for the paint. IMO, it's a better spray-on wax. PS, it also works much better wet. For dry I'd just use Griots Speed Shine.

This is an awesome comparison. I've been a big fan of the Griot's spray wax, for exactly the reasons you said. It's not too much more, has a great spray bottle, and shiny results were instant, and plenty durable for what it is, a quick spray topping. I remember using the Ice product years ago, and always was bummed by the initial results for the hazing it would do. Especially in the summer where looks were important too, and a hazy finish just ruins the appearance and the work put in. But seeing them side by side, I think I am going to have to have a bottle of each at the ready. Come rainy or snow season, washes are hard to come by so stretching protection, even if I have to deal with a bit of initial haze seems more than worth it.

I've been owned cars since 1983....the way I judge products is like this: If companies that were around in 1983 are still around and relevant in 2019, they must be worth buying.In '83 I used Turtle wax, Armor All and I still use them today.But I did buy some Griots Best In Show spray wax and detailer today.But when in doubt you can't go wrong with tried and true companies that have been around for years.There must be a reason they're still around.

If you use the Griots spray wax after you wash and rinse your car, do you have to dry it? Or could you apply it by hand and work it in? Would also like to know if the Griots could be worked in with their orbital with the correct applicator pad? If one method is superior to the other, that is the one I want. Seems like it is meant for a quick application by hand with minimal effort. I would just love to know without equivocation the exact correct Griot pad for the correct function you are doing. I have read their stuff but am not fully convinced I’m using the right ones. Their six inch electric device feels like a boat anchor by the time your done. I have a Ford F - 150 Platinum pickup truck that has a large surface area and some high reaching to get the top parts. So that probably makes using their machine more of a work out. I guess I could set up my heavy ladder to reach higher, or maybe make a box with steps. I’m constantly trying different ways to make it shine to perfection. It must have twenty coats or more of a few different products. I want to know if others feel a good traditional wax that takes time and physical labor to apply is still the best, or how does a product like Topcoat F-11 perform against wax. I must admit that putting the F11 on by hand is pretty light and quick. I’ve done some full on waxes from Griots of their synthetic poly wax, and the Carnauba. Then put the F-11 right on top of the wax from the previous job. It sounds to me that the Griots used in this video compares very closely to a quick top coat sealant. Those are all the rage now. I get emailed to death from various producers who claim theirs is the best. They all come in a 16 ounce squirt bottle with 2 micro fiber cloths. They look like identical clones.

Ok, ill preface this with the face I am a Griots loyalist.. that being said, I have most of their products. I do agree about preferring a spray wax to a detailer. I know you where trying to show readily available stuff you can get at Oreillys, that being said, the Griots product to use for this would have their "Best Of Show Spray Wax" however, what I am finding is that the actually visual result of these product seems to be mostly the same. Some have special purpose, for example their spray wax is designed as a drying aid, or their waterless car wash is just that, their "Speed Shine" has its own unique set of uses... but the actual final visual result, especially on a properly cared for car seems to usually be the same, and lets be honest, almost any vehicle any of us use any of these products on is going to usually be reasonably well maintained. anyway, just my two cents

What do you mean by fast-finish wax and using either of these spray waxes as a topper?
@thetechlibrarian
@thetechlibrarian Жыл бұрын
Fast finish is something you would use on your car if you just wanted to shine but it’s not going to give you lasting protection, a topper is a product that you would use after you have washed and used some sort of durable sealant or wax on your vehicle. The next time that you wash your cars so that you don’t have to go through the whole process again because you still have some protection left, but you just want to add a little bit to it to keep it protected

I just started using collinite 845. I use turtle wax ice spray wax after washing. The turtle wax is so good It’s like I just applied the collinite. It’s been 3 months since applying collinite. I can tell it’s still there. But man simply spraying the ice after washing is just too easy. And it lasts Atleast 3 weeks which is the longest I’ve gone between washes.

I have several layers of this on my Demon. I love it! I will say that it builds up too much and becomes super streaky. Complete PITA.. If it gets too bad, I’ll just use turtle wax spray detailer and it cleans it up fine. I put several coats behind the rear tires, and then spray it directly on the rubber from the track. Comes right off!

Hey man, been watching these videos a lot lately and it seems to me that you’re only using the turtle wax ice on the side of the panel.... idk if that has anything to do with the result agains all other spray waxes. Don’t take it the wrong way. Just making an observation.

It’s a valid point and I try my hardest to “reset” the panel each time after a test. It gets compounded, polished and triple wiped with an ipa.

It’s common knowledge that the Griots Best of Show Spray doesn’t last long at all. It looks great tho , but from my experience and it was a while back I used the Turtle Wax it was then a great quick detail spray but I’d be happy to get a week out of it . This is good , for them I’ll buy another bottle just to help keep the development coming . And it’s only a matter of time before the big budget companies push out something like this. Good video.

Are you confusing the Griot's Spray On Wax (the one used in this video) with the Griot's Best of Show Spray Wax? I have found that the Best of Show Spray Wax lasts a solid month to 2 months, depending on vehicle maintenance and garrraging of the vehicle, etc. The Spray On Wax is a totally different (less polymer sealants) product and is really meant to last more on a wash to wash basis. Both look great, but the durability of the Best of Show is much better.

UKSportsFan I’m talking about the spray in the video. I’ve used it for some time now and I don’t garage the car at all it sits outside maybe that’s why but I’ve never got two months out of this spray he has in the video.

@@AmirAbdullah ...OK, thanks, that's good to know. The Spray On wax used in this video doesn't have the greatest longevity, you're right...but the Best of Show does last two to three times longer than the original Spray On wax.
