Cheap watercolor (Mont Marte Signature) 1 month light fastness test

On the box these really cheap $9 watercolors said that they contain very light-fast pigments. So I decided to test that.

I love your sense of humor. I bought a set of these paints from Amazon and later was shocked to find them cheaper at my local Walmart as I'd never heard of them before. I love them, but it's good to know about the purple! I'm in Canada and figure my paintings will last forever given our short summers and long winters with hardly any sun, lol.

I have 24 gouache paint tubes (not from Mont-Marte) for just over $5 USD, only issue is that sometimes their brown-colored binder (which i assume is glycerin or something) separates from the mixture from time to time. Also Mont-Marte is quite a reputable brand for cheap things but of great value, I once bought a dip-pen set from them with 10 nibs for less than $3 USD.

i mean, theyre not exotic pigments. prussian blue is a colourant for so much blue stuff. if you were selling paints made from a factory in china, and the factory assured they were using those pigments, it isnt too much of a leap to know generally how lightfast theyd be. not sure whats up with FCs cadmium, assuming it isn't a hue, i thought cadmiums were lightfast.

Oh you're funny. Not using burnt umber because you ran out of room on your paper. 😂 I did a review of their watercolour set and did the swatching slightly wrong too because that's how well prepared I was 😂😂

Are they chalky? The pigments look pretty vibrant and opaque. Are these anything like their two seasons version?

Interesting video. Were the paints chalky ? Once dry, did they crack and did they rewet easily? Have an excellent after Xmas week.
