Am 47,I have had an xr200 for quite sometime and never really tried offroadin but when I was invited to try single track trail , since then I have become an addict......oh my...my motorcycle skills have dramatically improved... these bikes are extremely popular in the Philippines...you can find parts anywhere... yeah, I believe this is better than the newer crf250...

Cool bike, I live in the Pacific Northwest and my Dad just picked an 02 XR200 for $650 because a guy needed to pay his rent. It just happens to need fork seals so your previous video is going to be very helpful. Thank you for putting out the build. It’s inspiring and would love to see more bike vids

I picked one up in June at the ripe old age of 56 also. Been 30 some years since I played on a bike. Mine an 83 200R and buzzes down the trail just fine. Put a 12 tooth on the engine for lower speed play but still need to clean the carb and adjust. Bike is a mountain goat but needs some bars like you installed.

Very tidy xr, how are the forks performing with the spacer mod and the heavier weight oil? I have an xr 200 with very soft forks and I'm wondering if it's worth doing?
@MotoFlightGuy5 жыл бұрын
They are working fantastic. The front end is about as perfect as you could hope for. The next mod is going to be to figure out a heavier spring for the rear. Now the rear is too soft even with the preload adjusters cranked down. Would highly recommend the fork mods, makes it perfect for 180lb rider
@lachlanharrigan67815 жыл бұрын
Awesome thanks! I'll start sorting out a spacer

Where did you get your side number plates vinyls at? I am rebuilding an 86 xr200r and I cannot find replica decals for it. I am under the assumption that I will have to have them made.
@MotoFlightGuy3 жыл бұрын
I used universal number plate backgrounds and cut them custom to fit. I think that's about the only option
@dirtshart3 жыл бұрын
The graphics are on backwards that could have been why they didn't fit too well. But I do have a question about them anyways. After he sanded the tank has that help the graphics stay on. Cuz I've never had good luck keeping ng graphics on XRs tanks even though I've cleaned the up with razor blade and the cleaned them with carb cleaner before installing.the graphics after about a week they are already falling off
@MotoFlightGuy2 жыл бұрын
I haven't noticed any trouble so far. They are still holding up
@dirtshart2 жыл бұрын
@@MotoFlightGuy you must have good luck I've never had a XRs graphics stay in the tank lol I'm in the process of rebuilding a 94 XR250R and just bought a 97 XR600 and both of those bike the plan is to clean up the tanks as good as possible and the only graphics I'll have made for them will be for the fenders and number plate backgrounds. I think I'm going to try something different for the tanks and go with the slip on tanks covers for both bikes
