This is great advice for this day and age. People should try the lesser cuts of meat and doctor them up.

alsome😋 2.83 pds for21.57 dollars gave us 8 large steaks been at the bottom gave us three medium steaks then the last little bit the love of my life my doggy enjoyed paradise. Each slice believe it or not on the bigger ones was enough for two people and a child under 16 to eat along with potatoes gravy. And French onion green beans by the way, totally awesome taste. Thank you for showing us how to cook and make a great steak out of a hunk of meat. God bless. Have a great night.

Dear Mama, thank you for your wonderful and informative video. What would you think, if you first rubbed in your oil on your steaks directly, after you blotted off excess water/moisture first, and then sprankle on your seasonings so it stuck to it? Then put your steaks on sizzling skillet? What do you think? God bless you, Mama.

Bottom round, thin might be best? My so brought a few bottom round steaks that were thick, was 4th July, said dad these were on sale can we do anything, I said bring me an old sheet pan, my seasoning, and get some beers, I put steaks on sheet pan, seasoned, covered with saranwrap, we had a beer, I grabbed 3lb sledgehammer and beat the sh🤬t out of it😅🤣😢, was some holes, weren't 1" anymore 😅🤣, said get me another beer, he said what now like 🤷, I said son we cut peppers and onions then make best damn fajitas ever🤣😅😢😂😅🤣😂, can't make sh🤬t like this up, I still laugh and cry about it😂🤣, you did good, thin, not overcooked, so fast needs something like Montreal steak seasoning, thumbs up👍

@@MamaRayRayInTheKitchen yea I'm a chef, and was funny, he was so happy chot a deal on steak, yes I was drinking, and bottom round was about 1" thick, was by grills and workshop so figured tenderize them, I've never taken a sledgehammer to steak🤣😂, but it did turn out really great, wish he knew, could've gotten thin like you had, but was really funny, wish had in video.🤣😂, Tyvm. Glad you mentioned not to overcook . Take care

Try dry brining these and youll be amazed how browned they can get in just a couple minutes on the pan. The rinsing off you did makes them too wet and no matter how much you pat dry with paper towels they just wont brown up the same.

So let me get this straight. You take the toughest cut you can get slice it thin then season it and put it into the pan cold and steam each side in a cast iron for 3 mins per side? I just made a round roast the other day that was about 1 1/2 inches thick.First and foremost keep it as a roast, poke about 200 holes with a fork. Mis 1/4 cup spy sauce, 3tbsp red wine vinegar,1/2tsp honey, crushed garlic, pepper, chopped fresh thyme. Marinate in a ziplock overnight, take out of the fridge 1 1/2hours prior to cooking, 30 mins before you go to cook set your oven to 500° & put your cast iron in. After 30 mins in a 500° oven take out your pan and put it over high heat for another 5 mins during this time insert a instant read thermometer into the center of the roast then add a little BEEF tallow or grapeseed oil *Tallow gives a better more beefy flavor." Lay your roast in away from you and sear WITHOUT touching it for SIX mins then flip & sear another 4 mins. Then cut the heat and cap the pan. After you let it rest about 10 mins go ahead and slice against the grain and enjoy with some potatoes and green beans like I did. A top round "london broil" are on sale here in California so I've been doing alot of roasts, fajitas, carne asada & french dips lately
