Hey everyone! For those wondering about using Paint tool Sai with this tablet, it is incompatible until you fix the bugs within the program (because it is an old program made for wacom) Refer to this tutorial of how to fix it, its very easy and worked for me! bit.ly/2rL7k9I I believe a few bugs that can be fixed is alot better than spending like 400 dollars more for wacom!! The calibration issue is likely due to the colour gamut of the device.

to people having troublewit the callibration: to fix the callibration you can check out the review by mikeymegamega "HUION KAMVAS GT-156HD V2 Pen Tablet Monitor - UNBOX REVIEW!" He figured out how tofix it. Apparently it has something to do with your monitor automatically scaling to a non-native setting or something. It might help you if haven't already fixed it.

I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but if it's what I'm thinking about (the calibration issue), it's common with graphic screen tablets. The Parallax issue makes it a bit rough to get the cursor riiiiight under the pen tip, mainly because of the layers in the screen (the glass/plastic that you'd run the pen on and the screen under that). This looks like a great alternative to a small cintiq (which is what I use) and much like you, coming from someone that used the regular tablets that just laid on the table top, this helped with my posture a bit. Getting a drafting table helped too. The traditional feel is definitely there, such a huge change from a graphic to screen tablet (at least for me) after getting used to years of use. Keep being awesome!

i have this tablet actually ! I wanted to move from my graphic one to be faster and feel more at ease at drawing on computer ! I do have the same problems as you but i quite accomodate to it and i really like to draw with it ! It's cheap for an screen tablet and even with the minor issues it really feel good and more traditional indeed !

I just recently got myself this tablet and I had the bad luck of receiving a faulty product that didn't actually work. But I seriously cannot wait to use it once I get the replacement from Huion :3

Talmorne I got mine several days ago. Hope you'll be able to enjoy it as much as I have. There are small bugs (for example the display switch makes the mouse on the tablet stick to the left corner,however I was able to fix it by making the cursor only on the tablet display and moving it between the displays using a computer mouse).

Thank you so much for doing a review on this!! I just bought my own so I can actually start up my own channel and be motivated. ^^ I honestly glad it isn't touchscreen because like as if you were drawing and your arm gets in the way it might like mess up to drawing on the tablet. I don't know how huion monitors work because I never had one before. But I hope the product is great! Also keep up the good work, love your videos! 👍

The problem with these Huion reviews is most people that do them post them quite quickly. That is of course nobody's fault as they've been given a "mission" to complete etc but people, please do your research! The thing with Wacom being pricier is because it LASTS longer. Huion (Xp-pen as well) look good on the outside but aren't made to last. Many people experience after a couple of months that their tablet or pen stops working. Reviews therefore work in Huions favor as it does not review the product in the long run, only how it is currently doing when they get it. Really do your research people!!! Can save you some money in the long run :>

I don't know. I found some people using huion tablet for a year or two and their tablet still runs well. Besides, siding with an overpriced company with monopolize doesn't sound good.

I never said every single Huion tablet stops working after 6 months, I said it's it happens on several occassions and need to be made into consideration, especially because a lot of artists here that want a graphic tablet are rather young and can have trouble spending a large amount of money on something, and that it's then better to spend it on something that has a larger support base etc. I agree that wacom is expensive and that I would like to see a competitive different company create graphic tablets as well, but not Huion or XP-pen as all they're doing is using (often young) peoples will of wanting a graphic tablet a bit cheaper, presenting a NOT AS pricy but still an investment for many product that appears better than it is! Though, if they improve their product, drivers and support, I would be ALL for that. My comment only meant for people to do some research rather than just "This person reviewed it, so it must be good!" which is very common for young people :>

Ghostimu my comment is not a personal attack to you. Huion customer support is very good and the driver can be a bit clunky sometimes. But yeah, durability is something that is very questionable about alternatives. That's why warranty is very important in buying alternatives. And often times when I see people said in a comment section of a review "I just bought this alternatives brand and its very good bla bla bla. " I always asked "is is still good now?" and something along those lines. Although they almost always doesn't respond.

Hey all - I've been a digital artist for a 10 years and have recently switched over to a mobile setup as I'm traveling a lot these days, and the biggest issue with this device is definitely color calibration. After much tweaking, here's the Huion + Nvidia settings I ended up with in case anybody else wants to try them. I'd be interested to know how they work (or don't) for you! HUION: Brightness: 100 Contrast: 60 Color Temp: USER R: 48 G: 47 B: 47 NVIDIA Control Panel > Adjust Desktop color settings: ALL CHANNELS Brightness: 47 Contrast: 55 Gamma: .90 RED B: 50 C: 60 G: 1.09 GREEN B: 45 C: 57 G: 1.12 BLUE B: 50 C: 47 G: 1.01 Digital Vibrance: 55% My main criticisms would be that it has a hard time with neutral grays and perfect whites, and the navy blue isn't as dark as it should be (which means violets aren't as rich either). My previous pen display was around 75% aRGB, and at 72% NTSC, I'd venture this one can't be more than 60% aRGB (so you'll want a good screen next to it to check your colors before publishing), but for what it is, it's hard to beat the bang for the buck.

CherryTBomb paint tool sai is not super compatible with huion in my expirience !! But it should work, with some bugs (make sure you have the most recent sai)
