Cheapest Heaviest Dumbbell on Amazon? AtivaFIT 88lbs Adjustable Dumbbell Review

Something I found out post recording is that the "cheapest" amazon price is based on if you're a "prime" member, which is still more than $100 off their website price. If they do follow through with a more competitive promo code I will update the video.

Not a bad option but after having a fixed length adjustable dumbbell like this I really appreciate having ones with dynamic sizing so it's not always so long. The fixed-length ones aren't unusable or anything, but man it's definitely a major annoyance to me. I'd say, if you're fine with a lower 50lb max weight, the Core Fitness or NordicTrack select-a-weight dumbbells are the great overall budget options as they have small 5lb or 2.5lb increments, flat ends, and dynamic sizing for a reasonable price. Absolute cheapest quick-adjusting dumbbells I've seen would be the FitRx Smartbell XL, which goes 10 to 90lbs in 5lb increments and is often on sale for $150 per dumbbell and might be a better buy than these AtivaFIT options as they have a lower starting weight, higher max weight, and more increments while costing less. But I don't know about the quality/durability of the FitRx since I've personally never used them and given the price I'd be shocked if they are good quality. You should try to get those in for review and compare them!!

I got the 66 pound variant during the pandemic because, at the time, it was the only thing available. While I'm not a fan of the Bowflex style, I wasn't disappointed with these at all. I've ultimately upgraded, but they provide a lot of value. I haven't sold them and plan on keeping them around

@@balboa0621 I was honestly very surprised because the Bowflex style really just looked awkward and gigantic to me, but these actually seemed like something I could for sure use long-term.

Nice review, but this product doesn’t tempt me at all to replace my Core Fitness dumbbells, which have more reasonable weight change increments at 5 lb levels, are evidently easier to place back in the cradle, and have that dynamic sizing (as mentioned by a commenter above) so they’re not always long. Their main downside is their 50 lb max per dumbbell.

Thanks for this review. I know someone that had the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells. Unfortunately, they were dropped, once, during a move and broke. So, not all that durable. That said, I have a set of metal hex dumbbells. One of those was also dropped during a move and suffered a significant crack, too. So, my thought is, just don't drop dumbbells, whether adjustable or not. Question. I know you've covered isometric devices on your channel before. Have you heard of the Isophit Mobile Strength Kit? It's a device for purely isometric training with which can be utilized to do a lot of exercises. I asked another trainer if he could only have one strength training device, what he would pick. And, he said, the Isophit, without question. So just wondering if you have heard of the Isophit? And, if so, what are your thoughts?

I have nave had some people email me about that isophit. Just not something I'd really be into to be honest. I appreciate the comment and suggestion though.

My cousin has a similar pair that goes up to 60-70 pounds and they felt WAY HEAVIER than that!

I do apologize. The ones I looked at was the 66 pound and I kept scrolling through Amazon and I finally found the 88 pounds and yes I did find it and that's before I was looking on my phone not my Amazon account. Actually either I looked at my home computerwhere I have an Amazon account so I do apologize on that. Yes I did find it at that price and I'm probably going to purchase.
