If you haven't put an mcarbo trigger spring kit on, you're missing out. Best 20 bucks you'll spend upgrading your compass.
@vameathunter27714 жыл бұрын
I did replace a trigger spring and uploaded the video about it. You are right that was the best thing I did for my Compass. Thank you for watching n God bless.

Just got mine set up to suit me . I also tried to adjust trigger pull , ended up with only one nut on the spring side of trigger . This resulted in a pull weight just under 2.5 pounds . I installed my Vortex viper 4-16 on a DNZ game reaper low mount . It could not fit any lower ! I also put a comb raising kit on the rifle , so now my cheek is locked on the stock when I look through the scope . My last range session saw repeated small groups at 100 yards with inexpensive Winchester 125 grain hunting ammo .

If you try the DNZ PRODUCTS GAME REAPER scope mounts you will never turn back. They are designed for the specific rifle you use. If you try them out we will expect a video - Merry Christmas.

David, great vids! I also recently purchased the 6.5cm Compass with 4x12 Vortex Crossfire, and was also shooting sub MOA out to 300 yards bench rest of course, but i'm talking 1.5 inch with Hornady Hunter 143 ELD-X. This is truly unbelievable, what a steal of a deal. Keep shooting, stay safe!

300 yards! Lucky you I wish I had a place where I could shoot out to 300 yards. Also thanks for the info on Hornady hunter ammo. Thanks again for watching.

I own one, works well but….after about 5 rounds the barrel get hot and you start to move around, by the 10th round it’s unusable until the barrel cools down.

Love mine but just gotta have a leupold riding on top...just personal preference. Great rifle.
@vameathunter27715 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree about Leupold, but this came with a rifle for free. So I decided it to give it a try and so far I'm not disappointed.

In which state are you hunting? T/C Compass is a really great rifle for the money. bought one in Oct. 2019 at a gun show. Price was right at $250. No scope. I figured it was worth it cause I wanted to see what all the hype about the 6.5 CM was all about. I put a 4.5x14 scope on it and it too shot 1/2" groups (.6 to be exact) but only with the thread protector off the barrel. With it on, groups mushroomed to over an inch. I will not own a rifle that at least 2 out of 3 shots are not touching. I settled on the Remington 140gr Cok-Lok PSP. Killed a nice stag whitetail on opening day at 100yds. No tracking involved.

The Vortex Diamondback that comes with the gun is $150 -$200 scope, it's really all you need for hunting... it would be a little over kill to put a more expensive glass on a rifle at this pricepoint.

Yup! I agree so I'm keeping mine.

Ouch! Those are great groups. But are you using ear protection?
@vameathunter27716 жыл бұрын
Good question, I use small ear plugs made for swimming. It's air tight, so it protects my hearing better than the big headphone types and it does not interfere against the rifle stocks. I even use these on some of my hunts when I'm shooting a bigger calibers or rifles with muzzle brakes. Thanks for watching.

I enjoyed your video. Thinking of buying a TC in 6.5 but Im deliberating on another rifle as well. Great shooting. If you do change your rings I would suggest get lower rings those one in my opinion are to high.
@vameathunter27716 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my vid and the info. This was my first 6.5 creed and TC and I'm very happy with their performances on paper and on the deer. Hornady GMX did a fantastic job on a mature doe and you could watch it at; kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYa3ga2Bq5anoM0 P.S. Nice profile pic. :-)

Give vortex a chance...they make reely good glass!!! Check out their viper and viper pst. Imho vortex makes glass as good as Leupold or even night force!!! Happy hunting!!!
@vameathunter27716 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm definitely going to give my Vortex a second chance and if it shoots funny again I'm going to replace my rings before giving up on Vortex. If it shoots funny again after replacing it with better rings than I going to replace it with Leupold but so far Vortex and the compass is doing very well so I'm happy happy happy :-) Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas.

Try five shot groups and don't throw out fliers.....it will really make you concentrate on your breathing, cheek placement on stock behind scope, and your trigger control.

It was Hornady GMX 120 gr. Thanks for watching n happy shooting
@zackdavis39866 жыл бұрын
David SK Park have you had any experience with hornady American gunner? I found a good deal on some bulk of it
@vameathunter27716 жыл бұрын
No, but I tried new Federal non-typical 140 gr on my new LFA 6.5 creedmoor AR-10 rifle with barrel twist 1:8 and I was shooting close to quarter inch 3 shot group at 100, you can see my review at kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpaooKuVqc6rbrs You could buy this ammunition for $16.99 online, I really thought non-typical was junk until I tried it. I have not tried non-typical on TC Compass yet but I will soon. I would buy a box of American gunner and try it first before buying bulk of them, you might regret it. Trust me I have my share of regrets. Good luck n happy Easter.

Do you run a brake on your compass?
@vameathunter27715 жыл бұрын
Nope! This rifle shoots so well I didn't wanted to make any change except for replacing a trigger spring.

David SK Park awesome to know. Thank you.

I swear it’s absolutely pitiful how so many people in this country have been overcome and possessed by the nanny state mentality. Where’s your ear protection? Where’s your helmet? WTF?
@vameathunter27714 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response, my youtube is dropping some comments. I actually use ear plugs, so it doesn't show but it give better hearing protection due to air tight fitting.
@TOMMYSURIA6 жыл бұрын
How can you shoot .50 with a factory crappy 5 pound trigger? Did you change springs?
@vameathunter27716 жыл бұрын
No I didn't, I tried to adjust the trigger but it was not possible. If the trigger was actually adjustable it would have made a much better rifle. I think TC should keep their words on adjustable trigger and make some collections for the future buyers. Thanks for watching.
@TOMMYSURIA6 жыл бұрын
David SK Park Well my friend, you are one hell of a shooter then. Others are changing the spring and making it a 2.5 pound trigger, but I hate to be voiding the warranty. Thanks, I found the 6.5 Creedmor for 249$ today 174$ after rebate. Awesome 🤗
@vameathunter27716 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and is $249 with the scope? If not you might want to think about Compass+Vortex(crossfire ll) combo. Cabela's is have sale on same vortex scope for $219 and you also have to buy a half decent rings for it.
@airborneivan6 жыл бұрын
Hulagu Kahn I'd say its a testament to the rifle as well. I have the same rifle in the same caliber but running a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 and can consistantly produce .5 inch 3 round groups at 100 with Hornady 140gr ELD Match and .75 inch3 round groups at 100 with 143gr ELD-X. I just recieved a Winchester M-70 target spring from erniethegunsmith.com. It's a direct fit and brings the pull weight down to around 2.5lbs. Can't wait to see how it's groups now.
@TOMMYSURIA6 жыл бұрын
David SK Park morning sale anymore. Just the rifle for 299$
