If a hunter has to spend $150 on a 1 pound platform because he can't tote a 5 pound platform he doesn't need to be climbing a tree. Thanks for bringing this idea to my attention.

There's a few guys that have done this on saddle hunter forum. Doesn't hold up well to side pressure and has a slipping problem. Needs a few mods to get it right

Yes I would agree that some mods can make it better, but it's still works pretty good right out of the box

nice, but i would think about that bolt that holds the seat. that maybe be a problem later because it may not be strong enough 2 withstand all the weight you can see the flex in the platform, sitting and standing on it is 2 different things. but 4 a lite person it could be a cheaper way

Menards must of stopped carrying it because of the end of hunting season but i did see it on amazon for 44 dollars.

Thanks, I could not seem to find it either, maybe they will come back in stock, I do not know. But I do know that hawk just came out with a new saddle platform that is about half the weight of this tree seat, but it is also more expensive it is about 90 dollars, so that is another option.

At the time of this video you could get them at Menards for 30 dollars but now they are hard to find, and out of stock at most places. It looks like you can still get them at www.lockharttactical.com/category/product/8665700-hawk-hangout-tree-seat/category_pathway-754 But the price has gone up to 50 dollars. Another option is hawk recently came out with the hawk helium saddle platform www.midwayusa.com/product/1022735455 which is about half the weight and bulk of the hawk hangout tree seat, but it does cost more it is 90 dollars. So if weight is a concern you might want to go with the hawk helium platform for just a little bit more. I hope this is helpful to you thanks.

Yea I would agree, but you can get it a little quieter just depending on how tight you get the strap. Also I heard about a new saddle platform from hawk that is pretty affordable so that's another option that might be better for you link. shop.hawkhunting.com/helium-hammock-apex-platform/

Well its pretty good for the price and there are some ways to quiet it down by adding a different kind of strap and by adding dampening. I have also found out by using it this year that if you get it really tight to the tree its quieter.

chad leggett it is pretty loud when wet but if u put something like paracord or something like bed liner it would be just as good as any other $150 platform
