I'm curious how you estimate the price of prototype frames. Since the upfront cost of a carbon fiber mold is in the tens of thousands of dollars range, the fewer frames come out of that the more expensive they technically are. This would likely put Neko Mulally's Frameworks bike with the cf rear triangle in the lead. Although that bike is truly an outlier in every aspect.

Don’t know where they are finding 2.5k to add onto the nukeproof when you can get a pretty similar build on their website for 6k

3k for a set of bike wheels. absolutely Ridiculous, no wonder the bike industry is struggling when they price everything stupidly high.

Still plenty of people that will pay it though. I payed around 600 or so for my wheel set and my mates thought that was crazy. There's stuff at all price points

The 3k price is one of the blinkiest up there. You can get Loic Bruni's wheel for under 250 (Cmiiw). This is the beauty of this racesport. You can get the same part as the top athlete for only 3k. That is still relatively cheap.

Right now high end bikes are often at 40 to 60% off. Do the math. The industry is screwing us big time.

Bike wheels should be $500 each at the most. My wheels have been on since 2017 and still straight as new. Hardtail riding down Pikes Peak Barr trail.

If you compare some of these prices to car parts it makes absolute no sense. You can buy a good sport Suspension for 2k and thats 4 dampers and shocks. And they make a lot of money with it. But for a bike we pay the same for just a fork.

Thats not that interesting I'd like to know more about the prototype parts and frame tbh. Still entertaining but witnessing the ridiculous prices slashes on high end to low tier leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I won't ever buy anything new unless its at least 40% off. You guys know how big margins components and bike manufacturers have? Usually 70 to 95%. That's not even a lie.

World cup DH races only pay minimum wage so using a cheap bike actually makes sense. Racers get treated like peasants and none have any balls to say anything to make a change. It's only their career...
