Longtime follower, been following since 18’ maybe earlier when I had my 14’ mustang gt premium mt82 black like yours. I had a 99 Silverado 4x4 to use for truck stuck and sold it a few years ago to go towards the down payment on my house. Now I am looking to get another 4x4 Silverado of the same generation for a budget overlanding build like yours. Love the content, would like to see more of the truck in action in the future. I just did the same to mine. Unfortunately, my dash is so brittle that the clips on the new bezel have nothing to go into since all the plastic around the holes have broken to pieces. I'm not sure how I'm going to hold it in place. The lip around it is not substantial enough for tape or adhesive.

I was really hoping you’d get into the wireless CarPlay part more. How fast does it connect? With the quick start up do you even see the android auto before it goes straight into CarPlay?

It's fast. You make the connection one time, which is pretty straightforward, and after that it's all automatic. I don't know about Android Auto as I use an iPhone.

Not at all and this truck is really only driven on the weekends - sometimes not at all for a few weeks

Jacob, do you ever notice it do a full boot when starting your truck? I have the same unit and it almost always does (fast boot works fine if I just turn on the car without starting it). My voltage drops to around 10V while the car is starting so I'm guessing that's low enough that the stereo can't maintain its sleep mode and has to fully boot again. At least it's still fairly quick.

Install a cap and resistor. It will keep your voltage up when starting.

@@jjcuna thanks for the reply. I had various other issues with this stereo that their support couldn’t resolve and I ended up returning it for the linux-based version which has been rock solid.

Thanks for the video.. just wondering on the Atoto if you are 1. Able to view youtube, videos.ect while in motion, and 2. If you are able to access the rear view camera while moving forward in motion as well (to check on a trailer for example while towing) ? If so did you have to install any bypasses or ? Thanks!!

Yes you can watch KZbin while in motion. It's not just android auto. It's an actual android. You can download any Android app because you have Google play!

yes, you can access the rear view camera while moving forward in motion. ATOTO actually calls it live rear view. You'll have to buy their specific rear view cam tho. I believe it's ATOTO HD03, something like that. It's pretty sweet. It lets you have a virtual surround view of your car, too. I'm happy with mine. Hope this helps.
