Lovely lady, inside and out. And nice fashion sense too! The SUV build out was so smart and functional. You can park that anywhere. I've never seen a foldable toilet, superb! Each time I come to this channel I learn something new. People are so interesting. Thank you Bob!

Hi Bob! Hi Linda! I just wanted to say... sleeping in the front seat seems to have quite a few pros! Not only do you free up all that room in the back for "living space" but I imagine being right in the pilot seat is great if you needed to leave in a hurry... which can bring a lot of comfort and peace of mind for a woman traveling alone ;) I cant wait to start my Nomad life!

I actually had to leave like that once, when I had my Ford Ranger. Parked in a picnic area on the side of the interstate (I was getting sleepy). Guy bangs on my drivers window around midnight, saying he had an emergency. I looked around, not even another vehicle. What the crap?!? Pulled out my equalizer, pointed it at him, suggested he might want to move along. He did 😅. I drove to a truck stop, finished sleeping.

Hi Linda and Bob! You two are providing a wonderful PSA. I have a feeling as the economy collapses due to Covid-19, more and more people will examine this lifestyle. So keep sharing because that is caring. I think being a nomad sounds wonderful; however, I have disabled grandchildren I help raise so I can't do it. I live vicariously through nomads like you two.

I remember watching your first interview with Linda - happy to see an even more positive update. She is still all about functionality and organization:). Love that her business and media enterprises are doing well. That tray table for the wheel and the other in her 'nest' are just awesome. Impressive that she was able to pay cash for her new SUV - she is working so hard at creating a good life for herself, I'm thrilled she is staying healthy and her hard work and good attitude are paying off. Hope to see another update next year.

It's nice to see Linda in something larger. I followed her for awhile as I am working towards life on the road in a car or mini van. I had a couple questions I posted on her videos but she never answered them or many other questions from others so I moved on to KZbinrs who have a better response rate for those of us looking for answers. It's good to see she is still out there and doing well. Her new rig seems to fit her well.

I have terrible arthritis in my shoulders and it got to the point I couldn't lay down in a bed. I started sleeping in a recliner and after about 6 months, my shoulders actually improved. So sleeping in a car seat is not as weird as you might think.

I’ve been doing this since I was a Child. We had NO $$$ so when we traveled we slept in the car. We NEVER Stayed at Hotels. It was at Gas Stations we would wash up and went to parks or side of roads to sleep. Back then there were NO REST STOPS. So now with REST 🛑’s it’s much easier. I still do this today and I’m 72 and Retired. I’m from The Great State of TEXAS and live in FLORIDA because of the Business I was in before Retiring. I have Family and Friends all over the USA 🇺🇸 so that tells YOU how much I TRAVEL. I have a 2006 Infiniti QX56 that has only 248,000 miles. Been PAID OFF for years and live on my small Pension. I sleep 🛏 in the front seat and nothing in the back seat. But behind the back seat I always keep it ready to GO on a moment’s Notice with 3 First Aide Kits ⛑ just in case with other Emergency Equipment, sleeping bag, blankets Etc. I was a FIRST RESPONDER since 1974 so it’s a Breeze Living in my SUV.

Use something like Skype. That's how we keep in touch with all 9 of ours. The great thing is that we can show them stuff as we travel that they may never get to see like totem poles and an eagle in flight. We already have the oldest three who want to be just like us.
@MICKEYISLOWD
@MICKEYISLOWD 4 жыл бұрын
Many people will be doing this when your Grandchildren are older. Climate Change is here already which will force people into travelling like this eeking out survival where ever we can. By 2100 the Earth will be about 10oC hotter on average because nothing has been done to turn the ship around. We will hit 2oC in just the next 5-10 yrs and this is the point where we really run out of options to prevent catastrophic tipping points happening like the Arctic Sea Ice disappearing all summer releasing up to 1000 giga tonnes of methane gas into the atmosphere. Any climate scientist will tell you if we lose the Arctic we lose the Earth as far as human habitat is concerned. It has happened 5 times before in Earth's history where only 1 extiction event was caused by an asteroid impact wiping out the dinosaurs and killing 50% of all life on Earth. The worst was The Great Permian Extinction 252,000,000 yrs ago which wiped out 97% of all life on Earth taking 40,000 yrs from start to finish ( Co2 rising in concentration in the atmosphere) . We are digging up all that sequestered Co2 in the form of coal, gas and oil and burning it all in just 100yrs. This is a catastrophic shock to millions of lifeforms and to their habitat. We are already killing off 200 species per day and as more vanish some of those species are ones humans need to survive because they are all interlinked ruining the food chains leading to us. We need insects to pollinate crops yet they are dying off. We have already wiped out 50% biomass in the world. All these things are plotted at exponential rates and most humans do not understand exponential rate without careful educated study. The consequences are staggering in depth and scope especially as we are now seeing people becoming polarized, right wing groups leading polls and ultimately wars between nations and internal civil wars beginning. Now is the time to seriously consider learning as much as you can from people like Linda who is willing to share how she is living out of her car ect... I only hope I can follow suit and possibly hook up with someone who I can trust and share with because our set of living arrangements at the present are not going to last much longer and will not be compatible with survival certainly in 10 yrs from now. Wishing everyone will find their way and learn to support each other We lived in small groups for many thousands of yrs before this civilisation and so we can do this again. Good luck everyone who reads my overlong comment:)

I am so happy to see her sleep set up. As a soon to be 67 yo traveling female, who has slept comfortably in a recliner, I was planning on doing a swivel on passenger seat and adding some padding to seat to sleep. My other thought was to replace passenger seat with rv type captains seat affording a bit more comfort. I love her SUV set up! And I also like having everything at arms reach in small area. Very smart choice for time saving and decreasing frustration. Happy trails Linda!

I live on Maui and I am jealous of all the meets and greets these women have. There is only so far I can travel on Maui. 99% of the van dwellers here either have a mental illness or a drug/alcohol issue. Forget having a sane or clean roommate here and rent here is insane due to the Lahaina fire. I am thinking of moving to the Mainland and seeing the US! I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander Limited I have named Ol' Pearl (she's white and truly is a pearl) Highlanders are wonderful vehicles! I bought mine a little over a year ago and it has roughly 278,00 miles but still runs like a new car. Transmission is solid, engine doesn't burn a drop of oil. I have put some work (rear sway bar and shocks, new battery and alternator, new tires) into her but considering I got her for $2,000 I feel blessed. I am so happy for you Linda!! You picked an excellent vehicle to live in! Edit: I could definitely sleep in the front seat of my Highlander. It is incredibly comfortable!

IKR?! 💕 Last year I had fitted up my SUV for getting on the road but the weather turned bad unusually early so I just left everything in there. I decided to leave it like that, so in a pinch it is "ready to go". My seats are still in, and it's fairly easy to remove the things I've got in there if I needed it for passengers (which I basically never do ). You made a great observation, it's a comfort to know that it's there and functional.
