@Dosam it is in the doing it that we can then do it. We, at 62yo, converted an iMax into a campervan and my hips had a slight problem with the high step up so I got a folding step stool but I found it was a bother to retrieve it so I just took my time getting in and out. And now my muscles have the memory of doing it I don't have a problem anymore. So I would say my problem before was more mental than physical. #trynewthings

Wow, what an inspiration. I think people give up on this lifestyle bc they can’t afford the ridiculous expense of van builds. Most people don’t have the skills or workshop or money to spend $100,000.00 or more on a Sprinter or Ford chassis. Although I couldn’t sleep in the seat (you are amazing for that by the way), you’ve shown there to be options much more affordable than what’s usually posted. I’m really inspired by these stories of people getting back to the true meaning of the wandering lifestyle. It’s not about fitting your gaming system or expensive coffee machine into a van, it’s about being out enjoying the journey. She is so positive and uplifting but strong and practical as well. Thank you for sharing these stories and not just the super fancy van builds most of us can’t afford to ever buy. It’s also nice to see people over the age 30. Just because you are older, doesn’t mean you can’t take on this adventure.AND, it’s super empowering to see women going it on their own. Through problem solving and planning, she was able to get Lowe’s (Kudos to them, by the way, for supporting her) to put together the platform at no extra cost. What a great way to support this movement. Knowing this, I will choose Lowe’s next time I need building/lawn/etc supplies. Thanks again for sharing.

Linda, it is Sunday 6-28-20 & I've just watched you 2x demonstrate your 2012 van life. I am 76yo. I appreciate your attitude and feeling safe attitude. My Q is this -- you mentioned that you like to hike. How do you make your office equipment safe? Do you worry about break-ins? How do insurance companies deal with these things? E.g., contents of a van 'home'? Particularly office & business equipment? How does a single woman leave her van/home and e.g. go run errands? Groc shop? Hike? In general, be absent from her home w/o worries of break-ins? I am in awe of your attitude and transformation into this lifestyle. Please let me know how you handle your absences? Do you pay to stay in a campground & the forest rangers make regular checkups of the grounds? And if you park in an outlying area, how do you handle being seen e.g. leaving to go off hiking? Is there a special alarm system rv-ers can purchase? Special insurance? Special break-in proof doors and windows? How does this work? I too work online & often get riveted by these videos, especially of single, older rv-ing women traveling the U.S. & also into other countries. On a private note, I cannot seem to settle down since my partner of nearly 30 yrs passed on & I can't imagine a retirement community or trailer park or an empty lovely home without her. I just can't. When she was alive, I wanted very much to live as you do -- we were extraordinarily compatible traveling companions & we did consider moving around like you do. But concerns about income arose & I did not have the business that I've developed since her death ... and then cancer made a decision for us .. and now this. I am very eager to hear your answers & will gladly pay your hourly rate for consultation. Thanks, Kathy Elliott email me: kathy@kathy-elliott.com I'm in N CA

Go Linda, you get it girl! I too was a traveler for many, many years, one of which I lived out of my van traveling through the State’s wonderful National Parks. I also often got asked that question, “Aren’t you afraid?” I never understood that. Afraid of what? Fear is such a psychological trap that keeps people from living their best life. I don’t know your back story, maybe you’ve always been a nomad, but just wanna say kudos to you for grabbing life by the horns and making of it what you want, no matter at what stage of life you are in. Very inspiring! I’ve been much more grounded the past four years and enjoying this phase of my life (having chickens and a veggie garden on the road isn’t easy) but I have no doubt I’ll return to a more nomadic lifestyle one day and only hope I have as much gumption as you in my wiser years.

When you got it, I was thrilled to see how you would organize it and I’ve been waiting until today to have a clear up close view of the interior. Thank you so very much! Good for you! I’ve often thought about living on the road out West as well..I live in Massachusetts; it is my adopted state, but NY is my home. Cost of living here in the Northeast is off the charts! I’m almost 60 myself and thank God I have a pension, even though it’s a fixed income. One of my concerns about living like this out West is snakes! Please, PLEASE be careful! Have you ever traveled with a 🐶? For me having one “riding shotgun “ with me and for companionship, you can’t beat it! So many questions, but for now I’ll just continue to live in my leased apartment. I’ll see where my life is at as we get closer to Christmas..thanks very much for this great video! I admire your strength and optimism. Faith IS everything. God bless you and keep you safe! 😊👍🏻💜

Well I am not Linda by no means. But, i do live with a 125+ cane corso (Italian Mastiff) in a 1999 dodge Durango. I have been doing so last 2 months. I am a Navy Combat Vet so, i do have a fixed income. While working on others. I started in Orlando, have gone up the east coast, cut across to Ohio, down to OKC/Houston.. now in good ol Mississippi.. I tend to stick to truck stops mainly. Havent done state parks yet mainly due to all these lockdowns. I have been watching many of these videos of different people. And getting ideas from them. I would honestly say find a vehicle that you would be comfy with. In my opinion Vans are the best choice, full size, or even minivans. Honestly for myself i am definitely going bigger, eventually a ford excursion. Definitely keep looking/researching these types of videos if this life is possibly what you might want in the future. Have a Blessed year!

@@thatsalteavet my son is a former Marine did 2 terms I think you call it during Bagdad and some other place. I'll think of it after I sign off. Lol. My nephew is 3 MONTHS only older than my son. Also marine and was in Cuba Guantanamo. My son gets companies to hire veterans which is awesome. Don't know how they wouldnt anyway. On voting my own family is divided. There is a man on here that mentioned if he has to do this lifestyle that he would end his life. I let him know I was concerned and he got so angry. Take care, stay safe.

I love her setup and how it's not a build. It's just a very well organized setup. I was looking at the Highlander but ended up falling in love with the 4runner so that may be my next vehicle next year and I'm thinking of getting into solo camping and road trips and hoping to sleep in the vehicle. Lots of good tips and tricks. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, how do the mice get into the living area of the vehicle? Are they really a problem? This is something I wouldn't have thought of.

“Blacks, whites and grays with a touch of pink” That is my type of color scheme, but more great and white over black because I like light colors to bring it light and lots of pink accents!!! My first college dorm room was all pink gray and white, my roommate at the time and I coordinated for colors.

Same here, I did a 6 week trip across the country with my 8 year old and I thought i could sleep in the front, it was miserable. I'm 5' tall and I rather sleep flat the width of the car with my legs bent than the front seat. I ended sleeping on a crib mattress, it worked great.

Her explained way of sleeping is terribly bad for the spine, and, circulation would be taxed beyond reason. Women, especially, are prone to suffer poor circulation, varicose veins, and edema. Do your own research on the issue. She seems to hold the belief that everyone could do things just as she does, which is absolutely untrue.

I'm suprised she don't suffer from blood clot DVT, I knew someone who got blood clot sleeping in their front seat. It didn't bother him for the first 2 months until he started feeling pain on his leg and vomiting blood.
