Wow! Awesome info and equipment. I love that she puts safety first. Checking the pressure of your tires. As a retired trucker I can't express it enough! Safety First! Pre-triping your vehicle before a drive, post tripping after a few hundred miles. What I don't see is a lot of C.B radios in the van life world. The C.B isn't what it use to be but it is still an awesome tool. With a C.B you will always have back up info for accidents ahead. Communication with truckers who are filling up but aren't going to use their free shower tickets!! Truck stops offer free hot water on their coffee urns, free cold water on their soda machines, free use of the microwave, free water by hose at the diesel filling stations and truckers usually have free shower tickets they can share! "Check Check, Does anyone have a free shower ticket they can spare".. That's all you have to say on the C.B to find a free shower.

Three months ago, I purchased a van similar to this. One ton Ford E350 church van with seats. A 2008 model. 116,423 miles. Paid $8900.00 for it and felt I got a fairly good deal. Didn’t care for the way it drove, (steering was loose). Took it in for a look see and learned it needed new ball joints. ($715.00). Of course while they were in there they found tie rods were gone ($455.00) The plugs needed to be changed at 100,000 miles, points and spark plug wires were barely hanging on. (415.00). Alternator almost gone, needed replacement and another $495.00. New cooper tires ran $800.00. Van runs great now, holds the road much better, but still not like a new one. So that deal I got on this 14 year old , driven by old ladies church van got me about $13,000 now. At least I’m comfortable in driving to Reno from Albuquerque! No humidity out here, so NO rust! A deal at $3k? I’m not holding my breath. Everything man made wears out. This was driven a little over 8200 miles a year. Wore out. I’m guessing similar things are going to happen. I replaced NO belts or timing chain, that’s coming soon. Still I am pleased. I’ll never get anywhere near that out of it, but I’ll enjoy it in the meantime. Have fun with your van young lady!
@randzopyr10382 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelWilliams-ro9bm Definitely depends on a combination of luck and your own mechanical abilities. but $13000 is still a steal for a van like this - something remotely newer is going to easily cost 2x that. These things are still built on the same bits as a work van, and those are intended to be abused more and kept longer (with proper maintenance). If you can find trustworthy mechanics, regular maintenance will always save you in the long run, and a heavily used car is still often cheaper to mechanically bring to near new than even a newer used car, if you've got the time and the means to do so. Your only issues with something this old are interior wear and tear (which is often enough to significantly devalue the vehicle to most consumers) and the unknown.

suggestion for the lady turn the upper storage door upside down so the hinges are on the botton of the door. Opening from the top will prevent the cloths from falling out.
