Bob, thank you for sharing your story. Mental health should be something we should talk about as freely as physical health. Your life has touched so many, and I know sharing your story will also touch many who are silently suffering.

Thank-you, Bob. I've been an voracious follower of yours, gleaning every bit of knowledge from you that I can. You've made statements about how you need to be alone..... and yes, at those times you do. Hearing your deepest truth humbled me. There is no way to readjust to such a loss. All of those times when you asked, "Why can't I leave?" Yes, it took a little while and now you know. The majority of those in your audience are here by necessity and had no point of reference of how to pull it off until they found you on KZbin. You needed KZbin to reach all of these folks, including me. You needed your period of adjustment so you can tell others that it takes a period of adjustment, after each loss, to find a purpose. You found yours and touched thousands of lives. One of the greatest things you have done is to remove the stigma of being homeless and living in a vehicle. Thank-you, Bob.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Mr Wells most people don't want to or know how to talk about the people left behind after a loved one commits suicide but you did a fantastic job. My mom commited suicide and I go through severe depression. I feel your message was sent for me to hear because believe it or not I started watching your videos during one of my depressed moments and I have been following you every since. I probably will never be able to afford to buy a van but when I watch your videos I feel like I have been on vacation and it gives me a sense of peace. Sorry for rambling but I had to let you know how much I appreciate you sharing your life 🙏🏿

Bob is a good and concise speaker. Has he thought about doing a Ted Talk? (I don't know if Ted Talks pay anything, but that's neither here nor there.) Depression has been in my life in myself and loved ones, and in another video Bob said do everything you can to think about others and not yourself. Depression tricks you into navel gazing and so yes; working on anything (anything!) outside oneself is the answer.

even if your own life is a mess ,if you are able to help someone else in some way to manage there life or be happier you have done something profound. My step dad was bi polar/manic depressive, I grew up seeing(experiencing) his struggle , despite the fact that he was sometimes very hard to be around his overall influence was still good, I love him very much, he taught be many things and some of the best parts of my personality came from him. he is in his late 60's now and somehow has very much leveled off , he is pretty content in life and doesnt have such huge swings anymore. he is a really good man that I love dearly and I love the aspects of myself and interests I gained from him.

I'm glad you were spared and you were able to listen to your Higher Power. Your life has become a life of service to to others and I am sure that your Higher Power is pleased with the man you have become. I can also tell you enjoy what you do and that you enjoy your unconventional life. You have endured the life trauma that I have often wondered how people can come back from something that devastating. My brother committed suicide (BPD) at age 37 leaving 3 small children behind. The devastation of losing someone to suicide is so far reaching that I think that when they are in that dark place there is no way they can see how far those ripples will go. I too have been in the position of thinking that is the only answer and how much better off everyone would be without me, and that it was the only way to stop the pain. But I continued putting one foot in front of the other until my head cleared and I realized that it was not the answer. I remembered the devastation everyone felt with my brother. Thank you for sharing that very personal part of your life and I am sure your testimony as well as you your years of working with other nomads or those wanting to be nomads has saved many a life. God bless you, Bob, and may he continue to richly bless you.

I don't take medication but I try to create a parallel world in my mind which is sweet. Thank you Bob. Your story brought tears to my eyes. Often men don't tell our stories. That man was sent from above although neither of you knew it. Without you Bob, gosh hard ro say that this community would have come to life like it did. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your brave to share so candidly and from the heart. I don't know you, I'm 62 and been quite ill for 8 years, always have helped others and now I can't really. Like you said hard to find purpose. So because of lack of funds and I've never been nailed down anywhere, always loved the road, I hope to see you on the trail. Scared to death of the Build, not the drive. Asking God for help to fiqure that one out. Hoping the boarders are open, I'm in Canada and wouldn't like winter in a van so much but necessity calls. I'm pretty miserable right now, but believe a change is as good as anything. Blessings. Cheryl

So glad that you are happy now and doing good for so any people. You spread joy that is catching for those of us who want to catch it. I love it when you laugh at yourself - you don't take yourself too seriously - even though you are often serious. Sometimes I look back and realize that I had long periods of depressions that I did not recognize as depression - I just knew that I was not particularly happy. The older I get, the happier I am. I think that I live my life more on my own terms, which helps a lot.

I describe it just they way you did, not mopey and sad but definitely not happy. Ive talk to my doctors of course and have never let it take full control but really just having someone like you be so open about how they feel and have felt, is such a boost knowing Im not alone in the way I have felt. Im not on the road yet but I bought a van in October for a hell of a good deal I think just repairing the body work on it so I can finish the rest of the build on the inside and hit the road this summer. I’m happy you had the courage to share your own story and struggle with mental health. I have not been suicidal, per se, but I was the "living dead" while being severely depressed, losing several years to it and what you said about your dog resonates with me. If it wasn't for my dogs and cats, I would've lived much more poorly, as it was them that got me up and moving day-by-day through the worst of it all. Thank you for sharing your story and yourself to us. It means more than words could ever explain. 💗

Thank You Bob for sharing such a personal story with us. May that Higher Power continue to bless you as you have blessed us. You ARE changing many lives. I live in Hollywood CA. When I see people stealth camping on the street or I run into vans at my grocery store parking lot, I strike up a conversation with them and THEY ALL KNOW YOU! And are inspired by you. Last year I stopped at the grocery store before hitting the road on my way to my first WRTR and I ran into people that were on their way there too so...that's pretty amazing. Just know that there is alot of Love out here for you.

Bob I am sure you will never see this comment because there are so many but discovering your videos changed my life in such a massive way. I went from pure misery to just basically giving up, letting go and seeing where life led me , it led me to trusting myself to WORK for myself , that turned into a legitimate business where I make enough money to live but also have time for myself, i do not work myself to death 6 days a week anymore like I did when employed by others, I work 3 or 4 days a week most of the time and I'm doing pretty well! not rich by any stretch but having more time for myself and to be in nature was what I needed, that is just such a huge thing for me to have realized. I would not think less of you if you decided to end your own life when the time came for whatever reason, honestly that is my personal choice of death, I would like to control that if possible, its not a sad thing but it does hurt the people who love you if they dont understand. but I hope that somehow the knowledge that your existence shores up so many others and gives us direction and hope is something to chew on in your low moments and live for even if you don't feel all that excited about life yourself. some people were born to serve the world, I'm not sure if that is what you really wanted but I think that was what you were born for, to save others, give others hope and teach them a way to live that they can manage even when they have lost EVERYTHING. You are really a great man who will be remembered long after your time and that is something to be proud of.

Bob I was so moved by your story. I was blown away at all the trials that you have been through. I just want to thank you for your willingness to be so transparent. I really appreciated everything you had to say. I myself do have clinical severe recurrent depression and PTSD. I've been wandering in my class C for 20 years now. I'm a solo woman RV r and I just can never see me not having my rig. I want to thank you so much Bob for everything that you do for all the inspiration you have a brought and just for being Who You Are. Thanks for sharing this on KZbin.

I have been following you for quite some time, wanting so badly to buy a van and do some traveling. I am just too afraid of being more isolated than I already am and becoming more depressed. Im also afraid of it being another failed attempt at happiness and feeling even worse. Thank you Bob Wells for telling your story and for all you do to help others.... I am going to keep watching your videos and hope for some courage to go get that van!
