This is the reality of a lot of seniors and low income. Politicians talk about people on welfare are sucking the government dry, meanwhile, It's the Corporate welfare that sucks all of our money into the $100s Millions+, not someone living on $800 to $1,000 a month.

Margie....Good comment. Sadly, society has been slowly taught over the past decades that a higher power can't be real because of "no proof". I'm extremely business savvy and highly accomplished beating incredible odds about so called "proof". The easiest way to control people is by using fear. This is why there has been a so subtle (most people can't recognize the details) anti-religion brainwashing agenda that has gone on for over 40 years. Sure enough, it's working on the masses of easily vulnerable people in society. The greedy super rich people easily know how to control their future's primary main interest...more millions profit per year....as if they really need bigger yachts, bigger mansions, the newest private jets, etcetera. Morality is easily not being promoted with our daily bombarding of "news". This huge failure is not happening by accident or oversight. Nothing is more critical to contributing to a vastly improved society than reinforcing the teachings and benefits of living with morals. It's clearly not being emphasized....and for a reason. Greed for more money is the easiest bait in our puppet masters current 'human mousetrap'.

Nickel and Dimed On Not Getting By in America by Barbara Ehrenriech- a Ph.D. in Biology goes undercover working for and living on poverty level wages in 1998. It is a real eye-opener. I will never forget it. It really elucidates how the affluent exert inordinate power over the lives of the less affluent and especially over the lives of the poor. She also discusses how the working poor are major philanthropists yet remain invisible in media. “They work in daycare centers, neglecting their own children so that the children of the affluent will be well cared for. They clean the homes that the affluent live in while they live in substandard communities and housing. To be a member of the working poor is to be an anonymous donor, a nameless benefactor to everyone else. “

Maybe she wants to do it on her own. Some women can build and do other things. Being a woman does not mean that you are helpless. Learn to do things. Take a class. This lady has built all of this shelves and things because she has the skills that she needs to do it. This is 2021. Women are capable. Why are you feeling sorry for her? People like Dee? What does that mean. If she can do amazing things herself, obviously she does not see herself the way you do.

Like she said, she has chosen to live this way. Sometimes it is just easier and nicer having your own place. I'm sure her and her sister love each other, but that doesn't mean they want to live together. Why does the U.S. always feel like people need MORE. These families are prefectly happy living in their mud huts. You will never see them crying or pitying themselves for their current living situation. Some of the happiest people I've ever seen. Why, because they don't have the stressors of bills like people in the U.S. and they actually spend quality time with their families working, living, and enjoying each other side by side. thumbs.dreamstime.com/b/african-children-th-entrance-to-family-mud-hut-banda-two-happy-smiling-photographed-their-simple-uganda-88127089.jpg

We dont know her pervious situation such as, why she appears to have left her marriage with nothing. If she contributed to the marriage and acc to laws, she should have been able to get some support payments, shouldnt she? But like I have said we dont know those circumstances. It is tragic and criminal when family members refuse to help, shoving a person further into destitution. I am not saying this is Dee’s exact situation but these cideos on people who had to leave abusive or bad marriages to live in their cars etc, make me think of this…..When a person is destitute they face discrimination and prejudice which actually prevents them from getting out of a destitute situation. It isnt just about ‘material’ things. Its about cruelty that kills, sooner or later.

I am doing this in 3 weeks but I will be living in the front of my horse trailer. My roommate sold his house and I can't afford to live in this area, it's way over priced. I have been crying a lot today, reality is settling in and I'm a bit scared. I'm 53 and have owned my own home for 30 years until my divorce 12 years ago. Kids are grown and gone and I have only my animals and they're going with me. I often work 13 hour days driving Boeing employees around on shuttle buses but even working that many hours isn't enough to rent something anywhere around here, prices are outrageous, and I live super simple. So, this August I leave for Moscow, ID from Monroe, WA to start a new adventure in life. I needed this video today and I'm grateful to Dee for her courage and tenacity to make it happen. I know I can do this but its just not how I thought life would work out. Who would have thought a college educated, hard working person would end up like this? Thanks Dee for the encouragement, I really appreciate you today!!! You're amazing!!!!

Hope you have now found your place in Indiana. Same kind of thing, old , divorced health issues etc. I worked with horses for years at a stable outside Niagara Falls Canada. I remember cold winter mornings, heating up the molasses to add to the feed, the big brown eyes watching me. As far as where we end up...I guess it is always the same, all 'Citizen Kane ' really wanted was "Rosebud". I sincerely hope you still have your horse (or horses), and that Moscow is treating you well. At this point in life I would gladly go back to being a stable hand and living in a trailer, and having the grace to forgive many years of a dysfunctional marriage. I totally agree that watching Dee and her struggles/progress is an inspiration. An old uncle of mine in Ireland often said "Any day you wake up is an opportunity" Take care.

Don't let fear in. Gain knowledge through the videos out there. I started 6 months ago in a minivan and am now in a large cargo van. This isn't a lifestyle i was forced into. I chose it. You may be a little scared at first. But when you realize how awesome it is and how much money you'll be able to save every month it's gonna just send the fear away. Be strong and know that you aren't the first and won't be the last to live this lifestyle. It's a culture change now. More and more people are going to it. They don't want rent and to be held down. They want freedom and peace. That's what it's really all about.

Bob is wonderful. Truly a life saver. I can't even imagine why anyone would say an unkind word about him, truly. This video inspired me to watch all of the videos about Dee's experience. Something remarkable I noticed is that Dee looks 20 years younger NOW than when she started! The lifestyle obviously agrees with her! Thank you for all you do, Bob

This made me cry. My brother has been living in his car for over 3 yrs. We live in New York, and it's so hard to find a place to live with rents at outrageous prices, and jobs not paying well. It hurts to know that so many people can't have the basic necessities of life, like shelter& health care. We don't have any trailer parks or places to camp. So he parks his car and sleeps where he can, mostly at the beach. He doesn't have any of the things some of the people in your videos have, like a heater, stove or shower(bathroom). He showers at a gym, and eats where ever he can. I always tell he to stay with me, but his pride won't let him. I'm moving to another state next week, and I'm so sad to leave him, but I must go, or I'll be in a worst situation. I don't have a car to live in. I can only pray he will be ok. I also wanted to say, that I admire the strength of people faced with what or country does to us. We are supposed to be the land of abundance, but that's only true for the 1%. The rest of us 99% has to live such a hard sometimes very cruel life. I wish nothing but joy and happiness to everyone. ✌

Kudos to this special lady who removed herself from a volatile relationship and gained her Independence and self worth. Living frugally is far more honorable to one's self and environment and living happily with less is a beautiful example to many people who are in the same boat. She would never have to prostitute herself for anything she needs as the good Lord has placed her where she is today and knows her heart. I would help her in a heartbeat!

You have done an amazing job Dee. Love all your storage areas. I am like you everything has its place. Love your fridge. Your heater. Your chair. Everything plus you can live where ever you like as you say. No rent. No bills except your car insurance and what ever you pay for anything else. More money in your pocket now I think. Plus you have your cute little fur baby with you to snuggle with. To walk With & talk to. You did a wonderful job making it your home Dee. Congrats.

I have been talking to my daughter about living in a truck camper. I have always loved them . My Grandpa had one they lived in while he was building his home in the woods. You can do it, Grandma Marti! Just take a leaf out of Dee's book and watch the videos on here that show you how to do the things you need to get started, and most of all believe in yourself. I think it makes sense in the beginning to go to a place where other nomads are likely to be, That way you will have people around you who understand the situation and can help you while you learn how to get on. Best of luck and much love to you!

@ResilienceQd6 жыл бұрын
I do apologise, Grandma Marti, I sometimes forget that our expression don't always translate across the pond. Here in the UK, to take a leaf out of someone's book means to do what they did. =) So, to answer your question, Dee has not released a book.Yet. But I think it would be a good idea for her to share her story either in a book or maybe here on youtube. And I'd be interested to hear more about your experience too, once you've taken the step into the unknown.
@marti94986 жыл бұрын
Evalena Styf That is funny, BUT I think it would be a good idea for her to write her story! Well, PRAISE GOD, I talked to my Landlord today, and they want to work with me on my bill and NOT evict me!!! There are many kind people still left in our World, and you sound like one of them!! 💖
