I bought your plans and took on the mission of building the 16' X 32'. We not able to find help, so I built it all my self. I now only have the trusses to make, sheet and shingle the roof as well as add the wood paneling on the sides. Then, I am done. It has been an adventure.

Using this method to build trusses, what will be the head room for storage, after putting down two by fours and decking.
@CheapShedsDotCom7 жыл бұрын
That depends on where you put the loft floor joists. There is about 7ft 6 inches from the floor to the bottom of the trusses, and the truss height above the top plate is 1/2 of the shed width. If you put the loft on top of the top plate you will loose the headroom in the trusses. But if you put the loft below the top plate then you will lose the headroom below. But this should not be an issue because that still leaves plenty of headroom in the lower part.

How would this work for a load bearing roof? I want to build a 20 X 40 hay barn.. I will be using a hay track and carrier at the top center of the roof. The hay will weigh around up to 400lbs.
@CheapShedsDotCom5 жыл бұрын
I have never built barn trusses over 14ft wide so I have no first hand experience if they will hold the weight or be suitable for a 20ft wide shed. The safest way to construct a shed with these requirements would be to buy manufactured trusses that are built for the width and weight you want.

I bought your plans a long time ago, nothing was put together right .I don't have a G&H plans or specifications? I'm building a 10x20That can't be any higher than 12 ft.I think you last messaged me to cut down the walls to make that 12 ft height. The plans are a little bit sketchy but I will figure it out Thank you. So is G&H for a 10 ft wide shed 3 ft 10 at 22 and 1/2°???

It's really such a simple roof, with its head clearance you could make your walls quite short.

Dimension "H" is in the last column of Table 2, page 67 of my shed plans. Follow the first column down till you come to the size of your shed, then follow the row to the right and you will find it there.

Hey there was a good way to put in for people to understand I used to build Heartland industry yard sheds all over the states jewelry similar way the little gusset plates that you make if you attach on there I recommend doing that glowing them at the same time yet installing them within the hour that way there once it sets it never top move crack or anything like that very good design I did it for about 20 years and I'm very limited in two big enough places to be homes for retiring couples be cool be safe first time I check that your videos look good

can you use the same techniques to build a garage instead of a shed ?
@CheapShedsDotCom10 жыл бұрын
tcseacliff That depends on if you are building to code. If you build a 16 ft wide garage you should be OK strength wise. But not if you are building to code because these trusses aren't certified by an engineer. They just work based on experience, since most sheds don't have to follow code.
@tcseacliff10 жыл бұрын
what would you do , building them ,wise to be engineer certified? or is it just for the paper?the look good to me!

Table 2 is on page 71 of my Tall Barn Style Shed Plans. The table is called "Dimensions that vary with the length and width of the shed." This is where you will find all the measurements for the sheds that correspond to the building figures and diagrams.
