Emily S Oh yes, I seal with matte clear spray prior to epoxy and that’s so the glitter doesn’t move on you while applying your epoxy.

I love these cups! I was attempting to do the cup that had the orange on top and the green on the bottom. Can you tell me how you prepped that cup. Was it a flat white or glossy?

So steps: alcohol -spray paint - epoxy- glitter- epoxy- decal ( no sanding at all including after glitter? How long do you let dry between steps ?

M Dove I will sand after the first coat of epoxy if it’s necessary, that depends on what glitter I’ve used. Dry time also depends on what steps are taken per cup.

Thank you so much, once I added the glitter off camera I only added another coat of epoxy so that it was nice and smooth so I could then place the decal.

The epoxy looks a little bit cloudy? Did you add anything to the last cover of epoxy! ? The colors were gorgeous prior to last covering! I’m definitely going to get that white glitter! Thank you!

That’s exactly what I thought as well. Like what happened to make it so cloudy? The other cup isn’t cloudy 🤷‍♀️. I loved the color of it , super bright and shiny, then when she came back after applying the epoxy, it totally changed the look of it 😟

I haven't tried this, but I would think that acrylic paints could work, simply paint in multi colors and try. Please keep me posted.

No mater what method I use on chunky or fine or blended glitter I always have dimples on my cup when I put down a coat of epoxy. Any help on a new technique would be greatly appreciated.

It could be the coat of epoxy is simple to thin, I do not get fish eyes because I've touched a cup.

So Im a newbie and Ive watched tons of videos on tumbler making different techniques and whatnot however nobody has covered if there is a minimal amount of coats of epoxy one should use on a tumbler. Ive also seen videos on how to make a turner from a rotisserie motor but what do you to attach the PVC pipe to the metal rod? Thank-Q in advance for your input.

The amount of epoxy per cup depends on many factors, such is it just a spray painted cup with a decal could take 1 to 2 coats of epoxy, chucky glitter could take 3 to 4, fine glitter could take only 2 to 3, Its best to feel them out as you go. You'll get the hang of it and determine per tumbler which one will need more or less.

I know I’m so sorry, I do though have many videos that I do show applying the epoxy even if it’s a quick. Some videos I show but it’s sped up as well only bc most don’t want to watch me apply the entire coat.

How do you seal the decals? What machine and supplies you used to make the decals?

Its vinyl, you don't have to seal. I use the cricut explorer air 2 to cut my vinyl.

In this case it was pretty easy because the glitter is just so easy to work with. Other times after the first coat of epoxy, ill sand and then re epoxy.

She used fast set to apply the glitter and to seal the glitter and CCDIY’s artist resin for final layer because you can’t use the fast set as the final layer.
