Or pay a kid to turn off the gyros in the ELD. throw a faraday bag over it, and you never have to shut it off, just input everything manually.

@@tford9496 The line won't be green because you will be unplugged while driving. When u plug the ELD the line will be green of course.

You can change your location on your log but you can't the GPS coordinates. so if you say your in Cheyenne your GPS coordinates better match. even if you unplug your ELD it should still record your GPS location where your ELD was unplugged and where you are when its turned back on.

Cheyenne, Wyoming is a bad example because you have to go through the weigh station, and that’s risky.

It would still show up your last location if you go to dot inspection mode form. Also your current location would say “unknown”. Look at the engine shutdown and engine turned on location, it will not match

and if your safety guy looks into eld disconnects then he will see everything , in case of an audit in the company evertyhing will be noticed . not smart way to do it
