GM Eric Hansen plays against a blatant cheater with flawless accuracy in rapid chess. Unsurprisingly, this cheater got caught by chess.com's anticheat and was banned immediately.

Nobody would force an exchange and not have already thought out the next move when accepted. She’d only need to think if her opponent deviates from her plan. It doesn’t make sense she always thinks even when Eric simply plays the moves she’s forced upon him. It is possible she was distracted (e.g. streaming/chatting). But actually thinking? Nah that doesn’t make sense in some of those moves.

@dylanadams9465
@dylanadams9465 3 жыл бұрын
@@flyhard3388 For one, it's (somewhat) possible that the person on the other side is a stream sniper too, and it's better to let them not think you know what's going on so that they continue using the engine and get banned. Two, it very well may be someone playing at an incredibly high level who has nothing to do with being a prodigy or anything else, and embarrassing yourself by thinking a GM you know personally was an engine is probably worse than the rare scenario of a prodigy happening to exist. But three, I think it's just generally a poor mindset to always assume that if you're being outplayed, the person on the other side is cheating. While it is obvious if they play with an extremely high amount of accuracy throughout the entire game, constant accusations of cheating are a poor stream experience and an unhelpful philosophy for competition. Keeping an open mind helps you improve (even if at the end of the day, you can go back and see what was going on).

I advocate for cheaters to not be banned. You ban a cheater, the cheater creates another account. The better move would be to match cheaters with cheaters, or with bots with weird nicks and profile pics. That way the cheaters will only lose their time and honest people playing will not have these problems.

@@Jafimanku yes you can't prevent them from doing that anyway, but you can waste their time a little more, and you don't outright ban a player (which would make them create a new account faster). You wanna cheat? Fine. But get a taste of your own medicine first.

@@georgewbushcenterforintell147 It's not just that it's a super strong move, but also there are several other really strong moves on the board that seem way more obvious, like pushing the pawn to protect bishop.
