The reason SNL did a skit on the Try Guys is because Ned is friends with a writer on staff who wanted to paint him in the best light possible and make the other guys look like delusional fools who were overexaggerating the situation. They put a lot of emphasis on him being fired for cheating when he wasn't, he was fired for his misuse of power.

This situation is the perfect example of how a large social media footprint can backfire on you with a swiftness. Just a simple comment of "oh I have a friend who works at SNL" on one of their podcast episodes and BOOM. People have gone through all of your Instagram followers, ran names and employment checks on LinkedIn, and found your friend's name listed as a sketch author for a skit that tried to write off a quite heinous HR fiasco as another run-of-the-mill instance of cheating. The comment didn't even last a second and look at it's effects. You *hate* to see it 👀 SNL ain't shit for that skit either because I know they got decades of tea that would make Ned's behavior look like child's play...

@@mitsukislife Was it just an off-handed comment? They made it seem like it was kind of well known since they were Yale bros. Although it doesn’t really matter because your comment is on spot. SNL needs to make a sketch about the writer who did the sketch.

I've never understood "cheat back". As far as I'm concerned, the correct answer to a dude cheating is *dump his ass.* "Cheating back" just makes the dude think he's somehow retroactively justified, because obviously women are no better, right? Screw that noise. He failed the keeper test, and there are no retakes. GTFO, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. "If our vision of Women's Liberation is informed entirely by being about to behave 'like men' , we will _never_ be free." FACTS! SO true. Holding men responsible for their bad behavior and exercising our option to reject them if they don't please us is, IMO, a lot more powerful than sinking to dudebro behavior.

it makes perfect sense, its classic "eye for an eye" mentality that is common in any interpersonal issue. We all have a proclivity for revenge-seeking, pettiness, and wanting to correct a perceived injustice. Cheating triggers this part of us. I think people just don't see past their own pain of being betrayed to recognize that "cheating back" is not actually going to resolve anything and in fact invites that same energy back onto themselves. "Playing in the mud" so to speak

@@pri2x0x True but for the reasons the previous commenters mentioned, I never understood this attitude. If I'm cheated on I will probably feel rage, hurt, shame, dispair, disappointment, even agression, but I won't want to sexually be with someone else. Why does it bother me that somebody cheated on me if I can just cheat back to get even? To me it says these people really aren't aware of their own feelings and needs if they truly believe that cheating back is somehow going to give them closure.

@@girlwhomustnotbenamed4139 if you can understand revenge, then you can understand this response. As i said, it lacks in maturity or foresight, but it makes sense why someone who is hurt would think this is a way of "getting back" at the other person. What's ridiculous is that polyamory is not a thing people hide away anymore. Cheaters can 100% find partners who are down for open relationships and no strings arrangements... It baffles me to the max that cheaters still force themselves into monogamous relationships that they know they hate being in.
@Selllenya
@Selllenya 2 жыл бұрын
Because cheaters aren't necessarily interested in a non monogamous relationship. The issue with cheating is the disrespect of the relationship boundaries and rules, people who exibhit this behavior often in monogamy will probably be the same way in non-monogamy. A lot of monogamous people seem to think that polyamory, etc, is just cheating with permission when it's not true, the rules of the relationship is what changes, respect and honesty is needed for any type of romantic relationship.

But then again, for some reason cheaters go on a rampage if their partner %$&*s around on them.... Maybe it's just a control issue for cheaters, but then there's a whole community of subs and doms where the cheater can be a dom and find a partner who wants to be a sub.

Cheat back? Came close to doing that. Rented a room. Made a call. It dawned on me, um, I’m not the wack person so why should I be something I’m not to match his trifling behavior. The whole Try Guys situation is so messy but I think one of the members said that the reason they think that the reaction was so strong was because a lot of teenagers grew up watching them. They were a comfort channel that didn’t demand critical thought just stupid fun and because of that they felt kinda blindsided. Also Ned’s wife was on and off the channel for years and viewer’s were curious about this wife Ned brought up all the time. Eventually the other SO’s started a podcast as a second job and it was sometimes more popular than the Try Guy’s podcast. The woman that Ned had a affair with was engaged and was with her fiancé for 10 years. She also produced videos that Ned’s wife Ariel was in and even tried on wedding dresses on the channel. Also I think Ned put more money into the company in the beginning because he was better off and the first Try Guy’s office was in his old house. He probably got a huge amount of money to leave the company but will probably not work in entertainment in the future unless it’s behind the camera.

Whenever this topic is discussed, I always ask this question: Why don't people who prefer non-monogamy engage with people who desire the same? To the men, there are women who will willingly engage in a non-monogamous/polyamorous relationship. So why do non-monogamous men seek out women who explicitly desire monogamy? It doesn't make sense!
@joejoejoe532
@joejoejoe532 2 жыл бұрын

I’ve realized that some people are just straight up sadistic and get off on the fact they are doing something they know would hurt you. Like some weird power play or something. I’ve had this discussion with a past partner once who was liking certain types of photos of women on social media and messaging these women, some being past flings, ect. I told him like “If I’m not the type of girl you’re after or you don’t think im the one for you, or if you’re still curious about other people to the point where you still feel the need to talk to and look at other potential partners, then maybe we aren’t compatible and we both deserve to find someone that has compatible values and expectations for a relationship.” And then he went on convincing me that I was the one he wanted and eventually it led to him physically cheating so always trust your gut and the signs someone is full of shit lol. Actions over words always. I genuinely think he got off to my reactions to him blatantly checking out and flirting with other women. Glad I have matured since then.

Cheating back definitely isn't a flex but neither is being a pickme. In the common event that the female is the one that got cheated on. I'd rather move on and say nothing about it than encourage her to play nice. Cause that makes it seem like that dude is important yet he's not. If it happened to one of my girls, best believe we'll have more profitable things to talk about.

🤣 For the love of Ray J 🤣 I can empathize with people who are hurt and end up acting in dreadful ways and cheating. But we honestly don’t know how we will react in a situation until we are in it. You can say you will cheat all day but it takes effort to cheat, it takes the heart or lack there of. All I can say about the issue is just turn to your higher power, whatever you believe in. Pray, meditate, cry and just go through the feels. Allow yourself the emotions you are experiencing. That is the only way you can truly heal from heart ache 🙏🏽 Be safe out here y’all ♥️

8:00 can I just say thank you for speaking on this! I've felt this way for a while about some (again not all because clearly it's not like this for certain other issues) aspects of feminism. Like first of all, it's called "feminism" for a reason and while yes, obviously it's about equality of the sexes through uplifting women(the marginalized sex) by not putting limits on what women should do because of gender. I think we have to be careful not to shit on all traditionally feminine traits(except if they aren't irredeemably toxic) by default. Nor should we focus on uplifting certain masculine traits as something women should also aspire too just because men are not demonized for them enough or at all. I think some times these behaviors are so toxic, that they should be nothing short of condemned as much as possible when enacted by any gender, rather than fighting for the "right" for women to engage in them with the same limited repercussions. Again, isn't a rampant problem in the movement. For example, I'm sure most if not all feminists would agree that women engaging in rape [of men] is a horrible thing and should in no way ever be seen as empowering. However, I'd like to see the same sentiment around things like cheating, as you mentioned, as well as some other plain antisocial behaviors. No I'm not talking about sex positive feminism overall, that's fine. Just don't be a dick, literally and figuratively.

Part of what you said reminded me of the "ladette" culture here in the UK in the 90's. So, we had lad culture, hard drinking, sexually aggressive, loud mouths. Then, young women started acting the same way, cos erm, equality 😳 For me, equality means treating everyone with respect, not becoming as abusive as the men. Equality is not abusing everyone equally

I know we dislike/don't care for THAT family, but Tristan Thompson has been known for his infidelity, yet the family cast Jordyn Woods out and welcomed Tristan in, several times!! The situation solidifies the fact that men are given more leniency when they cheat.

Cheating is bad, that should probably be posted in all high schools at this point and be an elective in colleges. Nobody knows that greed is the downfall of many; men do know and continue to do wrong with no stealth. I don't understand most people. 🤷🏾‍♂️
