Story 1: If a dog loves everybody, and then growls at someone that comes to their house.... that should tell you all you need to know about someone. Dogs can tell. This J guy was a complete loser and if i were the OP, i wouldn't have kept my mouth shut about this for a single minute. I would've told Leslie everything right from the start... why wait? Also, why stick around with this guy for this long? He was as serial cheater... and i dont care if they have 5 kids or not. Dont stick around or that long. Just leave her alone... its none of their business. Story 3: No way is the OP a jerk here, and why is Anne even remotely surprised that the dad cheated on her, when she was the affair partner to begin with? Once a cheater, always a cheater, right? Anne certainly didn't deserve any respect or love from the OP here while the OP was growing up, and i cant see why anyone would expect the OP to be on anyone's side here, much less the dad's. Anne is by no means a victim here. The extended family needs to butt out here and the OP has absolutely no reason to apologize here. You can be sure that once the OP is 18, he'll being going zero contact with everybody here. Story 4: OP isn't a jerk at all and i probably would've done the same thing. It goes to show that non-whites can be racist too. As for the FIL, he's a huge jerk here, no questions asked. I'm honestly surprised that the FIL was allowed to go to the wedding, and even more surpised he wasn't thrown out during the reception. A good thing the OP did what she did.... and even better then no one tried to defend the FIL here. He clearly is just a jerk and hopefully the OP and Henry go zero contact with just him and never let him meet the future grandchild.

Yes she's a jerk for slapping the racist guy but only because she chose physical violence. I can't count the time as I hear you say that there's no excuse for physical violence but now you're cheering this woman just because she slapped the racist old man. I think that's kind of stupid, although I really think the guy is wrong for being racist.
