Different story here. Germany invaded non Germany speaking territories. East Ukraine is pro Russian predominantly and predominantly Russian speaking territory. They have been fighting for independence from Ukraine. Its difficult for Russia to occupy West or North Ukraine or Central Ukraine coz those people are not Russian but Ukrainian by language while south Eastern Ukraine is dominated by Russian descendants. So Ukrainian government has a big problem in south east coz THE PEOPLE ARE AGAINST IT NOT ONLY ARMY. ONCE PEOPLE ARE AGAINST GOVERNMENT THEN THERE IS A PROBLEM. This objective has already failed completely as Russian soldiers failed to capture Kyiv. I dont understand how you cannot notice all the contradicting statements the Russian government tells you. For example russian media stated that they destroyed the entire Ukrainian air force yet Ukrainian helicopters managed to strike targets in Russian territory. Another example of a lie is when the Russian media claimed that the Moskva was being safely towed for repairs after a "ammunition fire" yet the ship sunk the very next day.
