FYI, the xtool a30m arrived today, i tested the xtool a30m on a 2018 toyota rav4, the a30m is able to read live data from different modules, however, i was not able to view the "distance traveled" on the different modules, the odometer was only visible on the "meters" module, not on the ECM, PCM, or TCM.

Bonjour, les voitures plus anciennes ont également plusieurs modules de commande, mais pour beaucoup d'entre elles, elles ne permettront pas d'économiser du kilométrage. Chaque voiture est différente et chaque modèle stocke le kilométrage dans différents modules, mais en général, plus la voiture est récente ou plus chère, plus il y a de chances que plusieurs données de kilométrage soient enregistrées. J'ai utilisé un traducteur, j'espère que cela a du sens.

Si j'ai bien compris, le "Cluster Speedo" de compteur de vitesse est constitué de plusieurs modules qui se partagent les données kilométriques. On peux changer par exemple l'enregistrement kilométrique dans l'ECU ( appelé aussi UCH ou Bsi) mais il y aura des modules (ABS, Air Bag, etc...) qui n'auront pas leurs enregistrements changés. Est-ce qu'on peux changer les enregistrements existant dans ces modules ? (Remarque : De nos jours il y a un archivage des rapports des contrôles techniques automobiles avec accès au grand public donc toute modification du comptage kilométrique est inutile). L'outil OBD PROG-MT401 et l'outil OBDSTAR X300M permettent-ils de changer automatiquement tous les modules du Cluster Speedo ?

Oui, les données peuvent être modifiées dans chaque module, mais cela nécessitera un appareil plus sophistiqué. Par exemple, sur ce rapide, vous aurez besoin de VCP car VCDS ou OBDeleven ne vous aideront pas à réécrire ces enregistrements.

If your car stores mileage in engine control unit, the simple Veepeak or other ELM327 + Car Scanner app will be enough. If not, you will need something like Thinkdiag2 to accces mileage data in other control modules like dashboard.

i looked up their site and they say it supports live date but i think its just for the engine. Good to detect a non working air flow senser for example but not for reading live data in every moudle that the car has so no it will not work.

I bought a 2011 Acadia couple weeks ago. Seller apparently changed the mileage from 189,000 to 109,000. If I buy the Thinkdiag2, can I change the mileage to the correct value?

Alll of them can enter multiple modules to read fault codes. For other functions only Thinkdiag and OBD11

You can use it to find real mileage value in some control module if they didn't change all of them. (works best for newer cars, older cars do not have mileage readings in many units).

If you mean to verify mileage, the generic app won't be able to do that. You need to check mileage in multiple control modules, but simple OBD2 apps will show you data only from the engine. But for diagnosing the Car Scanner ELM OBD2 is good and also these: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nom5kqdmg5h4ldE&t

I found on OBD facile that there is number of counts for all types for monitors like EVAP and O2 Sensors. Something like 8437 Counts for O2 monitoring. Maybe I can calculate mileage with that.

None of these work at all it only works if it was recorded at a dealership or a place that’s works with carfax so for instance what if you go to the dealership and you had 34,000 miles today and 6 months later now you at 40,000 miles you cannot used the device and roll back the mileage below 34,000 miles the scanner would pick it up because the dealership locks the mileage in the computer data base so best bit don’t go to the dealership

Well apparently it works since I could find data about rolled back mileage on multiple vehicles, but you cannot find it on every car. And dealership records don't prove anything unless you have e-sim that is connected to dealership. If you don't have e-sim, they can just roll back mileage before going in for service and the dealership will have record of already rolled back odometer.
