How To check the oil level in a 2006 Mercedes E320 CDI. This will work for years 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 & 2009 (W211).

Awesome video man! Works on the R series as well. I thought I filled mine up a quart of so extra and since I had no dip stick, there was no way to tell. I was going to siphon it out so I needed to tell how much exactly I had to take out. This worked perfect! Thanks!

The reading might be somewhat faulty. I ensured that car is leveled straight and put 8 qt, I was reading 7.2qt which is totally fine for my cls 500. Do not top the oil based on the reading from the cluster. Excess oil pressure can wear the engine seals quickly. Add suggested amount.

my 05 CDI takes 6.87qts including filter. also the mercedes key is a one twist start, meaning you don't have to hold the key in the crank position.

Hello, Which motor do you have? Our north American E320 CDI's with the 3.2L in line 6 cyl take 8 quarts. Never put less and do not put more. The car will warn you if you have too much or not enough.

Hello, thanks for the video. My E270 CDi shows 5.2 lit and then stabilizes to 4 lit. I do not have any oil level warnings and was last serviced by Mercides. Do you think my oil level is low?

thanks for vodeo its 100 per cent undetstandable ill go check my oil right now i cud not find the dipstick on mine they come with put it bit you cud prder one on ebay for this cars there like 40 bucks but they sure take 8 qts of pil

I have a 07 E350, My oil quantity did not show up on the bottom. everything else seemed to be the same but the oil quantity did not display. Any suggestions. it show the A# then a blank and the third line show some numbers again. just like yours but missing the oil info.

StealthShadowFox what year is your car? Other option is to buy a dip stick on ebay, its called dip stick tool its the kind that doesn't stay in, only to check, see videos on that and other videos on this method, hope this helps

The gas motors take the same amount oil. 8.5 quarts.

@@twongreen9968 do the same sequence and hold the trip meter down for 40 to 50 seconds and then you’re going to hear a beep push the page down button and it will display then you open your key to the second position. It will tell you the amount of quarts it’s a Hidden Menu.

Your car needs to be at level surface and check when the engine is hot. Temp needs to be around 80 deg C

Oil volume expands by 1% for every 12 degree C going above 30 degree C. Check oil level at ambient and engine not running is the best way to do it. Also buying a dipstick is not a bad idea as there have been occasions of people putting in 8 litres of engine oil due to the faulty oil sensor. Check one a month by dipping vs on the dashboard reading. Regards.

Hi, My 2006 E350 does not provide the oil reading feature either. Strange that mine has an older instrument sw version (2605}, but a newer Ver. (0095). Anyone know if I can still get the oil reading somehow? Or like some comments are saying, the M272 engine (350) does not have it? Is the car eligible for software update by Mercedes? Would this be something that would be done free of change at any MB dealer or would the hassle? Thanks

Could you please help me.. I am having a E220 cdi 2004.. When I try to do that nothing happens. I can't make it to stick a the temperature, it automatically changes to speed.. And i suspect that, because of this the 3 taps on the reset buttons don't work.
