And I love your four-legged friend! LOL, mine would barely reach his knees. Funny story: My son brought his 70 lb. Mastiff/Boxer cross over for me to watch while he was out of town. My 10 lb. Chihuahua would growl at him to keep him from jumping up into the recliner--was so funny watching this huge dog roll his eyes and give a deep sigh before moving on, in the face of fierce resistance from that tiny defender. Good manners, thank God, on his part. LOL, I must be getting super bored telling stupid dog stories on a chalcedony channel. Give Lickety Split a hug from us!

Hahaha aww little dogs have the biggest attitudes!! I love dogs so it's never a bad time for a dog story :-) I grew up with dachshunds and they also had big attitudes for little dogs :-)

I can't decide which is my favorite, some really beautiful examples of chalcedony and other minerals, not to mention the gorgeous petrified wood. I do have to say though, that green opalite is stunning! Of course I'm partial to green, but nonetheless, it's still an outstanding piece.

They're like children, I love them all but cant choose a favourite haha! But that green opal is rather special. I hope it doesnt craze over time

Hi That one you say is a pseudomorph is actually a quartz crystal by the looks of it. A psedudomorph as I understand it is the imprint of another crystal left in another mineral. Commonly calcite crystal pseudomorphs are found in agates. It's a lot softer and also decays leaving it's shape behind.

thanks for sharing your collection, may i ask, where are you living to find such a variety of beautiful agates? I am in the state of Iowa, U.S.A Nothing of the likes to be found here, with no volcano's in these here parts, you are lucky to live in that area. :)

Are you using tile saw to cut your rocks? that's generally how i cut mine. How are you getting such a good polish on the sides of the rocks? i'm more of a tumbler guy
@chalcedonychris73103 жыл бұрын
Ive got a friend who has been doing lapidary work for years and he has several sheds full of machines. The polish comes from flat lap machines that vibrate with the agate face down. Ive recently purchased a tile saw so going to try that out soon
