For anyone who might be curious about this IP, it is the third game about Shelly. All three of these games, despite being from two different developers and all being different genres, star Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison, a character originally intended to be a sidekick in Duke Nukem Forever. The sidekick idea was scrapped and since then she's been given her own games. Her early concept art is... what you would expect from a Duke Nukem girl, but since then she's been given an overhaul that gives her a cooler look. Ion Fury released in 2019, and the Aftershock DLC released in 2023. Both are Very Positive on Steam. It's a boomer shooter set in the year 2097. Phantom Fury, the action-adventure game which came out today is sitting at Mixed on Steam. It is set in the year 2101. Bombshell, her first game which launched in 2016, is an isometric shooter sitting at Mixed on Steam. It is set in the year 2105.

I have seen other videos saying this game is buggy, but I did not see any issues while you where playing.

The only bug I ran into in 16 hours was sometimes the punch has a slight delay to it which you can see in this video, but others might be encountering more issues on different hardware etc

Ion Fury is great. Decently long game too. Prob closer to Duke, but I never played SW. If you liked build-engine type fps's I'm sure you'll love it.

the game looks really fun, but everything i've read from people who playe dit say its bad. normally you can see the jank in gameplay, but i dont see it here. the only thing that looks jank is the melee. i do wanna try it but it has such a mixed reception.

Personally I thought it was fun and the only thing I really noticed in 16 hours with it was a slight delay to the melee punches sometimes, hard to say what other people are running into though

I really hope this one is good, specially since Ion Fury and Aftershock was a good short romp and amazing. But after seeing Civvie11's take on it recently, I got my reservations, and will wait to see a review proper of it. Especially since 3D Realms other releases have been kinda... not good. Like Graven. But would be lying if I said I was not interested in another boom shoot staring Shelly.

Hmmm im not entierly sure. I like the graphics and it seems fun. But it sounds like you have to strech the video a lot. And like you have to praise some extremly basic features. Oh wow it has turret sections and weapon upgrades in it. The level of interaction seem bare bones at best. And meaby its just fun like it is, but im used to you gravitating to games with much more going on. But if this is just for the money, nobody can blame you. Youre a single dad doing this for a living. If that means a slightly underwhelming review for a decent game between all your high quality consistent output that is more than fine.

It is indeed a bit different than my usual stuff, but I have covered a couple similar games (GRAVEN for instance). I spent about 16 hours with it and had a good bit of fun so it made sense to cover it. I admit I'm not an expert with these specific types of games so I tried to just shotgun everything it had going on. Important to note that this is not a review though. Reviews are never and will never be sponsored and that's why it doesnt have review in the title. I thought it was fun so I accepted the sponsorship on it, on their part this was actually one of the more free form sponsors I've had and didn't place any constraints on the video.

I've played Ion fury it was a good fun game. This one looks better graohics and gameplay wise buy many people are saying its not good 🥲
