I remember playing an indie rpg with a similar vibe, was pretty rough too, mort even reviewed it, called Divine Divinity. I hear the devs went on to make some more popular games later. This certainly looks much better than Divine Divinity.

ATOM RPG and its expansion had some of the funniest and unhinged dialogue I've seen in a game. Hopefully the devs kept that for this game too.

Honestly started playing yesterday and was quite surprised with the choices in dialogues. Was happy to see that as a Noble, most of my dialogue choices sounded like a noble. I can insult people, treating them like shitty peasant. I also had multiple opportunity to intimidate peasants by requesting special treatment. It worked for the most part. It feels good to have a smaller game world but with lots to experience and explore. Hand crafted world ftw

I tried the demo some months ago, and what i can say is that i really like it. I think that the developers are in the right way to achieve a great indie game. We need more of this kind of games made with passion.

ATOM was so good that I'm interested in this. Hopefully it'll be as good as to warrant the kind of attention it deserves. The cRPG genre went from dead, to niche, to now being the hottest thing around and I cannot help but think that some of the smaller studios are getting ignored (but at the same time, those studios are growing fast! Thanks in part to you). May you wander in wisdom.

Not gonna buy it in EA, but this looks really good from the initial system's standpoint. A meaty crpg with all the systems that come with it. Also the scope of the graphics, style, etc. all seem well thought out, so I'm really optimistic about this one!

I'm already enjoying tyhe choices in dialogue that I get, but it seems beanpole or nothing is the way to go for traits. lol. You're always losing too much in a skill you are investing in. lol. Beanpole for anyone who doesn't want to be persuasive or whatever. lol. I love being persuasive, and trying to convince my enemies to not kill me outright. lol.

What turned me off in the demo was the fact that wolves would follow you and ignore nearby sheeps, who apparently didn't feat wolves running into their midst at all. This ment the world had few or no systems to react to what you were doing. I wonder if they fixed that somehow? The demo looked like it was scripted A LOT, which kind of takes away the interest of having a map that you can move through.

I have been looking for a good CRPG that has an open world where you can actually grind and get a high level character early on, I tried Baldur’s Gate and Divinity 2 but neither fit the bill. Does anyone have any suggestions?

BG1 can do that. The Ankeg farm just south of Baldurs Gate can get you all the way up with tons of money to boot.
