It looks like if you attempt to install the Scarlett Suite but already have Focusrite Red 2&3, it will seem like it's installing, but doesn't (but you don't really need it, because you already have 2&3). And then you have to re-activate 2&3, but it's not a biggie. Just warning anyone else who might have the newer compressor and eq from Focusrite but wanted this suite just because. Midnight worked fine, though. Thanks for all of these freebie links! Always fun.

An interesting note is that the Midnight EQ and Compressor are the exact same plugins as their Red 2/3 plugins but with a different skin. You can verify this with a simple null test. With that said, I still use the Red 3 compressor plugin as one of my 'hidden gems' in my projects. I've been using it to great effect for nearly 15 years now. A lot of people overlook it, but it has this amazing ability to 'smash' vocals while preserving every bit of the subtleties and nuance of the vocalist. I've yet to find any other compressor that can preserve the delicateness of a quiet vocal while heavily compressing the louder parts the way this one can. (An 1176 comes close, but doesn't have quite the same 'magic' as the Red 3.) It's not the only compressor I use on a vocal chain, but it is definitely a plugin I don't plan to give up anytime soon. If you can still download and install the Midnight plugins, that's great. If not, you can get the same performance with their Red plugins that should be available with any of their hardware. I don't think they sell them on their own anymore, though.

They actually made a blind test on gearspace and compared the slate red, brainworx focusrite comp, focusrite red suite comp (and a forth one which I dont remember). Red suite comp came first or second in most votes so it still holds up against the newer contenders.

Got most of the Scarlett plugs with my interface in like 2016 but I never use them. I thought the reverb was quite bad-sounding and the other processors redundant. Maybe I'll give them a second look.

After I did the video I continued to use the midnight EQ and I actually liked it quite a bit. I like it better than the Scarlett EQ.
