Check Out This EASY TRANSFORMATION of The Shmuseum! | VLOG 50

There's a new look at @TheShmuseum! We've transformed the appearance by hanging banners throughout that connect to @Shmee150 and the collection of cars. This has been by far the easiest way to have a huge visual change, and what a result it is!
We've always intended to introduce banners and make this a really colourful place, and they certainly give that result. We've chosen things that connect to the collection of cars, events, and places that have appeared on the videos to date, plus a few stand out drivers; Schumacher, Senna and Hamilton.
Without knowing how long it would end up taking us, Brad and Tim crack on with the task at hand with efficiency to see what the result will look like. Plus there are some cabinets to get built for some more of the LEGO, and even to bring out the replica model cars and start that side of the display.
There's so much more to do, but the build of the office mezzanine starts soon and that's really going to be the start of big changes too.

Tim, the Senna flag covers up the alarm sensor. Please keep in mind it may not detect movement in that area anymore. But looking awesome! Makes a huge difference.

Thanks for mentioning! However, rest assured that everything is moved or moving as we have the office mezzanine going in very soon too and of course a lot more security in line with it like cameras and sensors. Thank you

IKEA Billy Bookcases with glass shelves and glass doors works brilliantly for 1/18 scale. For a full width Billy - 10 glass shelves easily holds 60-65 models. FWIW 😁

Billy with glass doors lets in loads of dust. I think the cabinets that are currently in use are more dust proof, but unfortunately extremely inefficient space wise. Since they dropped the Bertby Ikea doesn't really offer suitable car model displays anymore.

You could hide some sound insulation behind the banners to reduse some of the echo and it would be hidden

That's a good suggestion. I'm a designer for a commercial furniture dealer and I often see people overlooking sound quality in their workspaces. In this case, the application is quite a bit more extreme than just an ordinary office (dealing with cars), but the same idea still applies. Reducing echoes in the warehouse should be the goal, as I don't see it going away completely.

@@CaseyCollier yeah at that scale it would be almost impossible to get rid of the echo but it would be possible to reduce a quantifiable amount especially when they install there office. It really should be considered for many people about sound especially if your making videos or just talking, a echo can make the difference from understanding to complete muddy speech

Looks really good. For the chargers, you should mount a power socket on the left and right side of the stacker. In the same time, you can mount LED-stripes to illuminate your cars (should be a good idea for the cars on the floor, too).

Yes you can ask for specific bits and bobs in Ikea stores. Usually in the customer support area they'll have a wall of stuff. Also a cartoon race of all your cars would look amazing on the royal blue wall!

I'd this issue with ikea few years ago, I just go back to Ikea store tell them this wasn't inside my box and they opened an other one and give me the spare part missing. So I don't know if someone else buy this box later and get the same issue as me or this box was used as spare part for other customers. And these banner are just 🔥🔥

After you have your lifts up, just suggestion. How about running a checked flag full length from end to end. Make it about 2ft wide. But I think that's something simple. Or just special race flags on wall behind the cars so you see them when the car is up in air. Also why not mount the battery chargers straight to the lift and there maybe a spring loaded rewind for all the extra wire. I believe Matt Ferarra has some good lift system ideas for his three lift sys of his new warehouse. Check it out. Very clean look

Best way to get stickers off glass is to use blade (it’s how I take overspray off car glass) also tar and glue to get the residue off 👍🏻 I have been valeting and doing this technique for years it’s super quick and easy

FYI the cross-beams are there for horizontal loading (ie wind), they are only in one structural bay to make the whole structure more rigid. [ For those structure nerds out there ]

Wouldn't it be easier to just wire up power outlets on the carlifts? The cable for that could run along the hinge (back piece of the hinge is in a fixed position), and it would be easy to just have the outlet there. Make a box to store the charger in it when not in use, and it also looks neat and tidy, without all kinds of loose cables at the back hanging around.
