Exactly a year ago I visited the Nurburgring for the first time with my mom. We watched the DTM races and then went to Apex to do a lap each in the Cupra. I booked a lap with an instructor and I was hoping to see Misha while at Apex. I was given a helmet, and when I got out Misha told me to get into the car with him! I didn’t expect this to happen at all but this was a dream come true. I’ve been watching Misha ever since the Boosted Boris days and his content made me obsessed with the track and made visiting the Ring my biggest dream. Experiencing the Ring with Misha made me feel extremely safe and I had a great time. When Misha said he gets a bit emotional when he sees a mother and son come to Apex together I couldn’t help but think about my dad. I was 12 years old when he passed away (it had been 7 years by then) and he was the person who got me into cars from birth. Both my mom and I were very emotional throughout this trip, knowing it would be me and my dad if he were alive. Misha and his content filled a big hole my father left, igniting my passion for cars and giving me a life goal during the hardest times of my life. In retrospect, it almost feels like my dad sent Misha to be my instructor around the Ring that day, and it certainly made my dream come true the best possible way even if it was without my dad. I want to take this opportunity to thank Misha for everything he’s done for me and for the special experience ❤

I’ve drifted out and in with Misha videos and even go back to the boosted boris days. However I believe in the last year or so we’ve seen more of Misha in terms of his openness, his driving craft and his enjoyment of spending time with car enthusiasts. Life just felt impossible, but through counselling and cutting ties with certain people, I'm slowly finding who I am again. Thanks Misha and Ben, so many memories coming up for me! 1:26:27 Grandma gets it! 😃 Ive noticed there are two milestones in life where people have a radical shift in thinking and it usually involves acceptance, seeing them embracing authenticity and abandoning fear(s). This is around the time people turn 60, and then again when they approach/enter their 80s with a decent bill of health/quality of life. The closer we get to completing the circle of life, the less intimidating death seems to become. My grandmother is 89 and terrified of snakes, and she's in a good bit of pain a lot of the time following multiple back and wrist surgeries, Arthritis etc. - but she gets a HUGE kick out of being in the car with me behind the wheel driving spiritedly, drifting, and being buried in her seat by torque!! She's pretty conservative (culture and a product of the times she grew up in, Grandedj was a Vietnam Vet and my grandmother had a very stern upbringing in Austria, very rough subjective life experience) My mother would sooner share a house with a rabid baboon than get in my car with me driving with anything less than the courtesy of a chauffeur 😂 But Gran just wants full send and it puts a massive smile on her face. I did convince my mom to drive my car once (modified F80 330d making more torque than a stock 991 Porsche 911 Turbo) and I managed to convince her to trust the brakes and suspension that I'd installed, and if she felt uncomfortable to just lift off the throttle and coast for a few seconds before braking gently., no panic braking or sudden inputs to upset the balance. We were on a wide, well-lit stretch of road which was empty and my mother launched my car and sat at wide open throttle until we hit 240km/h which is almost twice the speed she'd ever driven! Laughing out loud and asking me if she can have another go she had 5 more up and down that road lmao, massive win and a wonderful memory for my mom and I. Less so for my car and my poor tyres hahaha (I put semi-slicks on the rear shortly after to give my traction control light a break form working overtime. Totally worth it, but something I never thought I'd see and happy to have shared with her. Didn't take away her invisible break pedal when I'm driving though (no matter how predictable and calm my driving is) - I think she's just afraid of not being in control.

Wanting to rush into how Misha got to the ring, was slightly not needed, as thoroughly enjoyed listening to and happily learning the back story of his previous life in such intense vivid detail... as you rarely get so much detail about anyone's life, in either documents or podcasts... so, while i understand that time is fairly limited, personally i would have let Misha run his stories for however long, and edited the podcast into 2 or 3 parts, if needed.... EDIT : Wow, i certainly did not expect the last 15 minutes to be that intense... and learning what i did, did hit me just as hard... and sooo glad you toughened up and made it to where you are today, Misha!
