I have bought a Hamron MC lift table (article num: 011253) from Jula, a retail store you find in the Nordic countries in Europe. However, you will find similar motorcycle lift tables under other brand names in other regions.
I have wanted to buy a MC lift table for a long time, and I am very satisfied finally having bought one. Except, I am not 100% sure I did a good purchase. 🤔

I think this was a good purchase. 1) You can easily upgrade the back wheels with ones that have bearings or better yet, add tabs to install caster wheels (larger ones on both front and back); 2) You can easily fabricate a front wheel holder that is sturdier and holds more of the wheel; and 3) I suggest cutting a piece of plywood to install on the platform. It will absorb oil and will reflect light if you paint it white. The lip is a good thing since it will contain oil spills and possibly dirt that comes loose; and 4) You could also install small (cheap) hydraulic jacks in the corners if you want to lift the whole platform up to 90cm... and you can do all this for far less money that you would spend on an expensive scissor lift! Thanks for the fun video! Your production and editing skills are really great! 👌

Thanks Dennis 😊 These are some very good tips! I have already ordered some heavy duty caster wheels online (4x200kg / double ball bearings per wheel). I think I'll just use your tips as a work list, this is just what I need!!!! 👍👍👍

Minor and correctable annoyances. Your back and knees will thank you for this purchase. I loved my motorcycle table that was similar to that one. Before that I had one I made out of wood, way over built but it worked. You can always change and modify it to be more like you'd wish. Congratulations on the bike table and hopefully it makes working on the bike more enjoyable

Great work conversing with grumpy Ki, he might be pleased to know I have exactly the same table but it's blue, so I can see bits I drop. Also the lip on the side saved me from having a lap covered in oil when I knocked a pot of it over on the table!

Hehe, he is grumpy for sure 😝 I can see the side lip can help, If spilling oil or if just dropping a nut it will keep it on the table top instead of falling to the floor 🤔

Exactly what I think as well. I have been wrenching on motorcycles for decades, and never used a lift table. I am pretty sure I'll be very satisfied this weekend when I continue to work on my motorcycle 🤩🤩🤩

I have very similar one from Biltema few years back. I was also surprised that they didn't bother to make oilite style bushing for those cast casters. Well, build cheap is built cheap. Luckily Biltema one has edges bent downwards. Though I dislike the diamond shaping on it too. Nuicanse to clean the surface. Also the built-in wheel support is absolute garbage imo. Luckily they have those U-bolt locations at edge on quite many places.

I too have a very similar lift which I use for Motorbikes, lawnmowers and various other stuff. Like you I am not too pleased with the wheels and have long thought about modifying it, but that will have to wait until I see what you come up with. As always an interesting and well presented Video - Thanks!

Same table, all red color including top deck. Sold here under Harbor Freight. Same price. They have a new model which has gone backwards in some of its design so I had to go to many stores to find the old stock model which is yours. Common upgrades include side extensions for wide motorcycles so you still have a place to put your feet down after riding a bike onto it. Also done are removing the bottle Jack and installing an air pneumatic Jack so you don’t have to pump the foot pedal many times to get it lifted up. The included front wheel chock no one here uses. You can buy a different model front wheel chuck from the same Harbor Freight that originally was meant to go into the floor by itself but can be mounted to the top deck very easily. Also added are eye bolts or U bolts around the motorcycle front wheel end edge of the deck and side edges of the deck so you can attach tie down straps to securely lock the motorcycle onto the deck. There are various ramp upgrades and adding wide grip tape (sandpaper texture) so if the deck is oily the motorcycle wheels don’t slip out and if you are stepping off of a motorcycle you ride up onto the deck your shoes don’t slip on an oily deck. Here we don’t store motorcycles long term on the lift itself so the lift is in the way when not in use. We built a wooden crutch. It’s easy to bolt large rolling wheels to the wood crutch. The crutch slides under and over one long edge of the lift. Then you raise the other long edge up vertically rolling the crutch onto it's wheels side and be now you have the lift on a thin crutch ready to roll against a garage wall or workshop wall and get it out of the way until needed once more.

I have seen images of the one from Harbor Freight and I thought it looked very similar. I believe you when you say it's the same 😊 Sometimes newer models are not better, but the vendor has found a way to make it cheaper without most noticing it and keeps the same price. It's a pity. Your mods sound great! I made my own wheel clamp (made a video about that as well). It worked well, but I had to weld on support under the table to stiffen it, the whole tabletop bent as a banana when I put force on the wheel clamp 😝

@@kihestad if you want a look at the store one the SKU numbers are either 61670 or 97841. The text description is PITTSBURGH 1800 Lb. Capacity Motorcycle Stand/Wheel Chock. This can be drilled and bolted to fasten it to the top deck if a person does not own a welder.

Thanks again for the tips, but I am covered now as I have made my own. Mine is a bit more "smart" than the ones you can buy, as I can adjust it on both sides to always get the bike centered regardless of wheel width 😊

Hey i noticed you have trouble fitting the lift in its storage space. How about you replace the wheels with heavy duty castor wheels that are flexible..eg can move in any direction. That would make it easy to just slot it exactly where you want.

I have used it for a while now, currently with my Cagiva 750 Elefant. This bike is more than 200kg, and quite tall. Moving it around is not too difficult, but since total weight is close to 300 kg I have to be careful not going fast, it's hard to stop it 😬 I always lower the table all way down, moving it when lifted is absolutely not safe!
