Gen X is actually still doing all of those things, just on a smaller and more easily managed level, and the younger generation might actually notice that if they'd learn to put their phones down once in a while and just take a look at the real world around them with their own eyes.

I went mostly to Caribbean slash hip hop clubs/ jams in Toronto in the 90s. Looking back, they were wild. The whole scene (grunge, hip hop, pop etc. was just raw). I think our generation set it off and set standards in sports and entertainment and the generations that come after have tried to live up to our standards. They are always trying to destroy and discredit those of the past. We on the other hand respected the past at every level. We never competed with them in a disrespectful manner. This generation is extra foolish because they are always trying to impress and one up people. We just were We grew up with street code and respect and the Godfather movies.

Bless this man's heart. You can see and hear how fed up he is with dealing with dumb comments on social media by the Gen Z crowd. Those poor people are at that age where they think they are 10 feet tall and bulletproof, and not even realize it is likely because of some Gen X or older Millenial why they have at least some of what they have. As a fellow Gen X, who is in the process of caring for two elderly parents, let me say that we are still here; we just have zero interest in the spotlight and problems going on today. It is in everyones' best interest that we stay that out of the spotlight. Just let us be, and move along.

Gen X is definitely working! We are seeking to be ready for the death of the Boomer Generations. Gen X will be a forgotten generation. We don't want the jobs our parents and grandparents have held on for far longer than any generation before them, and while we know deep in our hearts that the generation behind us, be that Millennial or Zoomer are no where near ready to take on adult responsibilities on a national level... the shear comedy of watching them try will have us rolling in the floor of our paid for homes when it happens. Be happy Gen Z, and others of this age... you don't actually WANT Gen X to give a damn... really... you don't.

So not being noticed is what we prefer and spent our whole life perfecting it. There's also nothing scarier than a bear you don't see or hear until it's right behind you.

Mom & Dad because our helathcare system is utter SHYT, and a daughter and grandson. The daughter at 25 has gotten engaged to a wonderful young man who loves my grandson as his own, and finally moved out, and I have about a year to get my parents situation straightened out, and I for one am looking forward to it just being me and my wife...in silence...unless I choose to have them over.

Gen X is still going about the business of life while being ignored and overlooked - the way we always have been. You don't see us because we are used to being invisible and silent, and going about our business without making a fuss. Of course, we are also used to the fact that when we are noticed, it is either because someone needs something or shit went wrong. In the either case, we can fix it - if motivated. Snacks do wonders for motivation. Or you can blame us, in which case, we have had enough if that shit, and you wont need to worry about funeral arrangements. Gen X takes care of business, leaves no evidence, and has no fucks to give about what happened to you. We were taught how to get rid of bloodstains, refuse, bodies of pets and neighbors, and decades of CSI, NCIS, Forensic Files and more help our earlier acquired skills. The FBI will believe Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy cooperated to do it. And we'll go back to our houses, keep our heads down, and know nothing about it.

To be fair, she didn't say we HAD to do anything. Just that we weren't doing stuff that maybe her boomer relatives had been sponsoring previously. At this point, I think they're largely going to notice us when we're gone. Because we were trained to quietly do all kinds of tasks that needed to be done at an age probably earlier than when those things should have been our responsibility. And so when those things became our responsibility, we just kept doing them. And maybe we don't know how to stop doing them. So when we're gone, there'll be a period as everyone figures out that we were doing stuff and has to reassign all those tasks that no one wanted to do.

Some of us late boomers are doing the same. We like to watch your videos but with no interest in making videos.

Why are these new generations suddenly poking the Gen X bear with so many videos asking where the Gen Xs are? Do they really want to know what the Gen X people are capable of? But... really? 🤣😂

The dislikes are from boomers, zoomers and millennials. We're quite used to being surrounded from all sides, and emerging victorious. We didn't disappear. We're doing our own thing, and wish to be left alone. We don't owe the jiffy pop head anything nor do we owe anyone else. Self sufficiency was hammered into us, early and often. We taught ourselves. We improvised, adapted and overcame. Zoomers and millennials need to learn how to do that. The GenX species are not warlike, however we will become very warlike when provoked. It would be very unwise to poke the GenX bear. We will maul you, and have a shit eating grin, while we do it.
