Disclaimer... I’m wrong don’t listen to me (only applies for Charli tbh): I mean I’m not a fan of any of them, but “stealing dance moves” is a big generalization. Creators on the app make a dance and others dance to it and almost all the time the original creator is credited in “dance creds”. The only time where there was a huge misconception of stealing a dance was the renegade. Everyone thought Charli created it and she never said she did.
@indigodovesss4 жыл бұрын
Jenna M no. It isn’t actually. In almost every video they do, they aren’t the ones making the dances. Unless we’re talking abt charlie who actually dances, she does make some sometimes. Other creators just take dances and then never give credit. and most of the time they take it from black creators, who deserve the credit way more. It’s not fair, and they profit off it. It isn’t rlly a generalization.

The way social media is configured, it creates what is called a parasocial relationship. It is a form of one sided relationship where the viewer feels like they share a relationship with the personas portrayed, even though they have had no real interactions and the content creator does not know the viewer personally. These relationships have always existed in mass media, but are strengthened on social media, where creators release content constantly and where the content has limited regulation and easily reaches adolescents and children, two groups that are easily influenced by parasocial relationships. As a result, kids and teens watching these TikToks feel like the TikToker is their friend, even though they don’t know them. They probably feel more encouraged, even entitled to pursue interactions with these people.

Rayna Carol ye facts. especially the part of w/ these grown people leaching teenage drama for content.
@gigimegadoodoo4 жыл бұрын
It’s so fascinating, isn’t it? It seems we love drama that isn’t ours... drama that seems to be manufactured to be pleasing to us. We love to lay in our rooms and scroll through and enjoy the show as these generally attractive teenagers get themselves into petty little situations. I suppose it’s out of envy... perhaps we wish we were them. They’re so out of reach, rich and famous as they are, but the stupid drama connects us to them in a different way. The drama IS the same as the conflicts we see again and again in high school, the ones many of us go through. It’s proof that they’re like us. So we get invested, pick sides, and gang up in the comments and mentions of the ones we disagree with. Imagine you get into a silly little fight with your friend, and instead of discussing it in private, it gets put on display for millions to watch and get invested in. I feel bad for them.
