Next time a snow or ice storm is coming cover your solar panels with an old comforter and a shower curtain on top. Shower curtain will allow easy snow removal and the comforter will protect the glass panel.

You should try putting prestone de-icer window washer fluid on the solar panels . It may help

You might try using a broom on the pine trees, get the snow weight off and the branches might perk back up.

I think a snowmobile would be a good investment for your group. This would allow you to get off the property and get supplies that are running low.

It looks like you had a lot of freezing rain before the snow. That can make limbs heavy. It is also bad for power lines.

After living decades in SW Mo., escaped to Texas, here are my thoughts about snow and ice. Snow, pretty to look at. One day of it and I’m ready for Spring. It turns to mud and people don’t know how to dive in it anymore. Ice: hate it with a venomous hate.

Just be safe Ed and Steve. Round 2 may be on its way. It may be just snow or it again could be a combination.

Looks like some Bon fire wood. We had so many trees down in 98 that my dad was cutting up wood for three summers.

It would be nice to have a little wood stove in the camper! In a SHTF situation, if you get bad weather shutting down your solar, and no gas for a generator, you will freeze! But plenty of wood for a fire and a mini wood stove in the camper will save your life!!

Just for fire safety, best to move the tree lines away from structures.

Can you put a tarp aver the solar and put some heat under it? Long enough to get the ice off.

Sorry Ed you're dealing with ny weather down there. Easier to deal with in NY cuz you were used to it and so are the municipalities. Hopefully you won't get anymore.

You should have electric chain saw,at least you do 50- 100 ft around your power source or have a makita 18 volt which are tremendous saws.I don't know we're to start with you.

Seems like each home site should have a chain saw. At least those that have trees that could affect entry
